This was our 4th time at the cabin. It’s perfect for our family and such a special place. We feel so fortunate to have created lasting memories here ❤️
This amazing cabin more than lived up to our expectations!! My family enjoyed blueberry picking, foraging for mushrooms, snorkeling, fishing, kayaking, swimming, incredible sunsets, campfires, listening to the loons and just being together in nature. Our two weeks spent at the cabin were incredible. Barbara (the owner) and Mark (the caretaker) were very attentive to all our questions. We look forward to coming back!!
My husband and I rented the cabin for a week and had our grown children and their partners stay for the first half of the week, and friends joined us for the second half of the week. The cabin was perfect for all our needs, and the lake was fantastic for swimming, boating, and relaxing. The magic of the absolute quiet, privacy, and peacefulness was intoxicating, and we only used the generator when we needed it for lights or water. Using it was simple and immediate, and we found a rhythm of use very easily.
We especially liked the screened-in porch for meals, but also found ourselves drawn to the front porch for coffee and relaxing, and used the living room for games and gathering. This is a very special place.
This was our fifth time staying at this beautiful cabin, and once again, it did not disappoint! We love escaping to this peaceful retreat in the woods—it’s the perfect place to unplug and recharge. While there’s now some cell service, it still feels wonderfully off the grid. Surrounded by nature, it’s easy to slow down, breathe deeply, and truly relax. The cabin itself is cozy, clean, and well-equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Whether you are sitting by the fire, listening to the sounds of the forest, taking a walk through the trails, or swimming in the lake (the new dock is great!), this place is a true gem!
We enjoyed an amazing week at this property. Photos do not do it justice. It is beautiful, serene and peaceful. It was exactly what we hoped for in a cabin in the woods along a lake. We had no issues and the communication was great.
The owner was very polite and allowed a very early check in. I would only ask ahead to make sure you will have at least warm water for showering. The hot water heater did not work. A very nice cabin.
Every year me and my two sons (now each adults) take a getaway trip. This year we decided to go somewhere we have never been…Maine! We are absolutely blow away with how amazing this trip was and the cabin and surrounding areas could not have been better…
We had plenty of room in the cabin, the front porch is perfect, and just a short walk and you will find the most amazing lake we have every seen. We will be back!!
This was our 3rd time staying at the cabin. We brought along our newest family member, our 4 month old baby boy, along with our toddler and 2 school age children who all had a blast with many trips down to the water and swimming hole and adventure walks on the path. We even had a couple of American Bald Eagle sightings. We also enjoyed campfires, songs and s'mores. It was certainly a hot week, but one where great memories were made. We love this place!
Wonderful property, beautiful lake, nice house but it needs some improvements.
It need to be cleaner. I know it is a wilderness camp but it needs a through cleaning. All food items should be removed after each guest departs. Food items attract mice and the house is infested with mice. We caught over a dozen while we were there. No one has cleaned behind the washer dryer in the last year. The throw on the couch was filthy. It needs a thorough cleaning.
The stairs to the 2nd floor need to be replaced. They are a total trip hazard. All stair risers should be the same height. These stairs are a mess.
We enjoyed our stay but the items listed above will keep us from returning.
Beautiful cabin in a remote setting! Absolutely loved the property with lake access and trails throughout the mossy forest! Not another soul on the lake for the whole week we stayed! I already miss going to sleep to the sounds of loons! We will definitely be back!
Our family of 4 had a wonderful stay in the Log Cabin. The Cabin is very cozy and situated on a wonderful property. We spent our days alternating between the river access and the lake access. We took the canoe out, caught some fish, had smores by the firepit, made blueberry muffins from the blueberries we picked and saw a beautiful sunset. Our goal of this vacation was relaxation and this property was perfect. Thank you Barbara!
Wonderful cabin on the lake in the beauty of the Maine woods. If you love peace and quiet and the sounds of nature, this is a must rental. The lake was wonderful and the cabin has all the conveniences of home. The cabin even has cell service, despite its remote location. Owners were great communicators and the property manager, Mark, was just minutes down the road if we needed anything, which we didn't! We had a great week spending time together as a family. Will definitely rent again.
Beautiful log cabin in a very tranquil setting. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, this is the place to go and relax. Enjoyed the lake for fishing, kayaking and swimming. No sandy beach, but nice swimming/floating off the dock. Our grandchildren had a great time playing in the shallow water around the large rocks on the opposite side of the property. Also, climbing up on them land pretending to be mermaids! Bring water shoes. The sunsets were beautiful! Lots of blueberries to pick along the paths leading to/from the lake. Very large firepit for campfires. Picnic table by the fire pit as well as a picnic table at the dock and one by the rocks on a nice platform. Loved sitting on the front porch or relaxing in the large hammock. Saw a bald eagle and snowshoe rabbits. Enjoyed the woods with the grandchildren playing hiding go seek and making fairy gardens! Great place for children to use their imaginations. Evenings were spent with campfires, songs, stories and playing board/card games. The owner Barbara was very nice and informative in answering my questions before booking. Also, the caretaker Mark was very kind and accomodating with getting us checked in.
The cabin was lovely. The location was Mother Nature at her finest. Thanks to the owners for sharing this slice of heaven. Not for those who want to shop or go out to restaurants. this is hiking fishing and kayaking everyday. Went to bed exhausted in such a good way every night.
Incredible property with beautiful views, better than the listing!!
One of kind property that exceeded our expectations. Extremely private with great lake access for boating, swimming and fishing.
The décor was cozy, and we loved the professional taxidermy displayed throughout the cabin.
Our family had a wonderful time and would highly recommend!
The pictures do not do this place justice. I spent a week here with three other adults one child and two dogs and it was the perfect location. Very spacious and a lot of accommodations for sleeping arrangements. The kitchen is nice and big, the fridge is a decent size and the stove works well. Short walk to a dock you can jump off of and put a kayak in the water, as well as another dock near some rocks that you can jump around on. A nice hammock and a big fireplace were perfect for the relaxing vibe. This place was exactly what I needed and more. There was enough cell signal that I could use a hotspot to get homework done when I needed to, but it was also easy to ignore technology all together. The only issue we noticed was that the toilet in the bathroom seemed to leak a bit, so I would suggest bringing some extra towels for the floor. Mark was the gentleman who came and explained everything to us, he was kind, accommodating and very welcoming. As someone who is orginally from the woods of Maine, it was so good to be home for a little while, and this cabin was the cherry on top.
We were looking to unplug for a few days, and this property delivered! It was quiet, clean, well-appointed with plenty of space and privacy. Beds were comfortable. Picnic table on the water was a treat. The cabin is decorated with museum-quality taxidermy that our 10-year-old was amazed by. We had cell service, but pretended we didn't :) It was nice to just listen to the silence and watch the loons on the lake.
Everything was as expected except for the unexpected taxidermy critters located throughout the building.
We loved the property and the cabin as well as the lake.
Being vegetarians, the multitude of dead critters were not a pleasant surprise. Sorry Barbara. Aside from that we loved the place and had a great vacation. Thank you for opening your cabin up to renters.
Highly recommend this off the grid camp on a lake! Beautiful surrounds, easy use of the camp, only hearing nature, all the things you need to get away from the civilization. Host provided us simple check in process and a super clean camp. Hope to return soon!
Great cabin in the woods with lots of land to explore
We really enjoyed everything about this place. Perfect cabin for our family of 5. We loved all the trails and access to the water. Great folks to rent from too.
