Comfortable & Quiet

We enjoyed staying listening to George Straight and being surrounded by trees for the weekend. The gym and hot tub were great additions to the property.

Absolutely loved our weekend getaway at this VRBO! The location was perfect, nestled in a quiet area. The cleanliness exceeded our expectations. Bonus points for providing fire starter when we forgot ours. Perfect for an escape with our furry friend.

Rustic-chic!

We had such a blast staying at The George @ontexastime. The location is perfect as we visited Austin and Fredericksburg. Loved the clean and efficient cabin- perfect for the two of us and so, so cute. The cold plunge and sauna were a treat, also used the swimspa which was way bigger than I thought. Beautiful views, so much nature to take in and great communication from the host. Will def book here again!

Great getaway, brisk nature walk to the deck with a great view, don't forget your mosquito spray. The cabin is just perfect for a quick getaway drom the hustle and bustle.

Relaxing Getaway

We really enjoyed this property. We cooked our meals on the grill, relaxed by the fire pit and walked down to the waters edge to take in the views. We also hung out in the texas sized hot tub! Loved the proximity to surrounding wineries and restaurants. Very nice stay, would recommend!

The trail to the Colorado River was really good and the outdoor seating area was okay. The outside space was nice and secure, and my pet had room to play, which we really liked. However, the shower water was super slow, and the commode was broken. The jacuzzi was also not clean. Before booking, I asked if it was working, and they confirmed yes, but when we arrived, it was not clean and not in good condition, so it did not feel worth it.The normal check-in time was 4 PM, but usually it should be 3 PM. We also requested just 1 extra hour to check out because it rained heavily the night before, and we needed a little more time to wrap up. But the cleaners came right away and said we couldn’t stay longer, which created a lot of rush and stress during checkout. It was not a peaceful checkout at all. We booked this place for a peaceful 2-day stay, but it got disturbed at the end.Overall, the outside area was good for our pet, but the maintenance issues, unclean jacuzzi, and checkout experience were disappointing.

Tiny home away from home

This was a very enjoyable stay. The pictures 100% accurately displayed what was avaliable at the location. The amenities and land are worth a weekend stay. We enjoyed a trip out to Krause Springs and Muleshoe Park. The only thing I would deduct points for is dock/lakeside portion. I was excited that, even with low water levels, we might be able to enjoy a lakeside stroll. However, the water is at least 1 mile away from the 'dock', which is a walking path that has been boarded at the end. There is 0% lakeside/lake access to this property at this moment. I am sure that is due to the water levels being low, but it was disappointing when I thought it would be a feature: part of why we spent more for this cabin. Regardless, it was an amazing stay and we would book this place again in a heartbeat!

The George

Small cabin...pretty comfortable shower is tiny, the lake isn't low its completely dried up so if you are thinking of nice walks and views there is no water to be seen. The hot tub is huge but it was really dirty....it is located directly under trees so perhaps someone had used it earlier in the day. We got half the cover off and said no thanks which was disappointing I always choose a rental with a hot tub and this was the first time we couldn't use one. With a little more tlc this could be a really good rental.

NOT WHAT I EXPECTED

checked in at 830 , found the cabin to be about 45 deg. and no heat . was not advertised as being no heat and roughing it. at 945 the CO2 alarm to us to "evacuate" immediately. So after freezing for 2 hrs we decided to leave and find someplace warm to stay.. probably would have been ok if the outside temperature had been 70's or 80's; but this is not the place to stay if the weather is cold. sorry... very quaint, but just too cold to stay.

Cute property!

We checked in around 9pm our first night and the main air conditioner was blowing hot air in the living room. All 4 of us had to sleep in the bedroom with the window unit because the rest of the cabin was too hot. I immediately texted the owner and she said she would try to get someone out the next day. Fortunately, we planned to be gone the entire day. Had to text for a follow up. Said someone was coming at 3pm. Texted again for a follow up around dinner and no one was able to come. She told us we could get an extra fan from the gym. Fortunately, we checked out the next morning before it got hot again. Our first night was not good but the 2nd was better. No offer of any compensation for difficulty with the first night and kids having to sleep on the floor. The cabin is really nicely done and decorated! We didn’t get to explore the property but everything looked really nice. Would recommend once the air conditioner is fixed!

We had a small girls weekend get away with my mother myself and my 9 and 6 year old daughters this past weekend and it couldn’t have gone better. The cabin was so cute and the communication was fantastic. We will definitely be back

Great Spicewood Stay

Our stay at "The George" cabin was very nice. Very clean, bed was comfy, plenty of towels and great gym! The shower is tiny but does the trick. The lake was super low so we couldn't really access it safely, but close to Krauss Springs which was amazing! Also, close to wineries and great pizza place. The gym was awesome, we utilized it daily! Good central location for us and the activities we were doing in the area (Perdenales State Park, Hamilton Pool, Krauss Springs, and Wineries). Oh and we loved the daily visits from the neighboring animals (2 sweet dogs and a few goats!) Thanks for the great stay!
