"This hotel ruined what was supposed to be a special weekend getaway. I live in London and had planned a short trip to Sicily with my girlfriend—the only weekend we both had free. I searched for hotels in Favignana on Expedia, but the platform redirected me to listings in Marsala without making that distinction clear. I mistakenly booked ProKite Alby Rondina, thinking it was in Favignana. Just a couple of days later, once I realized the mistake, I contacted Expedia and the property to request a cancellation. The trip was still over three months away, but the hotel refused any refund. Even friends from Marsala visited the property in person to try and help resolve the issue, but the staff remained completely inflexible. With so much notice, they could have easily rebooked the room. Their lack of understanding and unwillingness to help left us frustrated and disappointed. When we ended up staying, the experience was just as poor: • Air conditioning barely worked, and there were no mosquito nets—an issue when you’re near the sea. • The rooms are dated, the bathrooms are worn, and many face an industrial mechanic’s yard, not the sea. • We requested an early breakfast so we could catch the ferry to Favignana. What we received was an afterthought: no bag, no spoon for the yoghurt—just a thrown-together excuse of a meal. This place tries to market itself as a high-end spot, but the service and facilities are below basic. Definitely not worth the money or the stress. Avoid."
