"Sperrin suite was dated, showed signs of disrepair, the bathroom looked new but had very bad black mould around the shower tray, the windows were coated with a film for I presume privacy but that meant you could not look out which for a 2nd floor room was pointless, the coffee machine was broken, evening meal and breakfast was poor quality. Staff were all friendly though"

"The staff and decor were the winning aspects of the Lawrence. The writer-themed rooms were so individual and impeccably decorated. Emmit (sp?) showed us all around the space and told us the history. It was all so charming! Breakfast was top-notch as well. And the location was just blocks from the walled city. We had a somewhat late arrival, and were surprised to see so many stores/ restaurants already closed. (It was a Monday night). We found Brown’s still open…closes at 9p…and had a delicious meal there. Back to The Lawrence…they did everything right, and I would definitely go back and stay there again. "

"My partner and I stayed 2 nights here without a car and while the walk from the rail station was arduous, the stay was lovely. Our room was massive, the bathrooms were hard to find at first, but clean, and the staff were ready to help. We especially appreciated access to a kitchen with a decent amount of pots/plates/etc for making a simple dinner our first night. The property is a bit far from the center of Derry, but not unmanageably so; just be prepared for walking up and down hills! Check in was confusing because I had not received communication that we had to go to the main property first, but that might be an issue with Expedia rather than the property management. Overall a great stay that I would recommend!"

"The staff were fantastic. Couldn’t fault them and they were always very helpful. Since Galgorm have taken over and made it ‘family friendly’ it has turned tacky. They need to either revamp and modernise the hotel for family’s and kids or else reinstate it to its former glory. A helter skelter in the car park, a bouncy castle in one of the large rooms make it feel like a very expensive kids adventure play area. £500 for 2 nights and not stated anywhere that the main bar is closed and only a ‘pop up’ bar with 2 beers on draft and a few spirits. It’s sad to see such an amazing place go downhill so much "
