"At check-in there was nothing at the desk, a waiter from the restaurant tried to assist and we figured it out. In the morning the receptionist was quit rude, would not look at me, short answers, and just not very friendly. Amazed at her rudeness in such a beautiful place. "

"I highly recommend that everyone should look beyond the big expensive city of Basel and look into Germany for accommodations. Although this hotel had slightly outdated décor, one can see that this hotel, and it's staff, have a lot of pride in their work place, and they offer great service. My room was spotless, had all the necessities except for air conditioning but thankfully, it was a cool enough night that it wasn't necessary. The hotel offered a plentiful and fresh breakfast buffet that was fit for a king. Everything was wonderful at the Carathotel. I really commend the staff that was very welcoming."

"The hotel is very conveniently located, within walking distance to the train station, grocery stores and a discount store. Make sure to walk to Rheinfelden, Switzerland, which is a very nice, underrated town. The breakfast at Hotel Danner was among the best of our 3-week European escapade. The staff at the front desk was excellent, especially the young man whose name I wish I remembered. He gave us very good advice about Basel. I definitely want to go back to Hotel Danner."
