Good place to stay
Great location for a short stay. Cleanliness was irreproachable, linens and bathroom in particular. Very friendly staff, who responded quickly to our request for extra pillows.

The InterCity Hotel in Freiburg is a very nice, no frills hotel extremely conveniently located at Freiburg's central train station and a 15 minute walk from Old Town Freiburg with its many attractions. The hotel room was clean and comfortable. But this place has the most wonderful staff. Everyone is extremely pleasant and helpful in a variety of languages.

Convenient and clean hotel with helpful staff.
The hotel is right next to the train-station, convenient if you are passing through Freiburg. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. Our flight in was delayed and the staff was friendly and very helpful. A no-nonsense hotel.

The Intercity Freiburg is located right at the train station making it exceptionally convenient for anyone travelling by train. It is also a 5-10 minute walk to the centre of Freiburg. If you wish to go somewhere else all public transit goes through this station. We loved the hotel and it’s location is unbeatable. Would definitely recommend.

Ideal location
We had a pleasant stay at the Intercity Hotel. It was a perfect location for us, being right by the train and bus stations and a short walk to the main sights. The room was lacking a kettle and a rubbish bin which we had to request twice before they were provided, but other than that there were no problems.

The location is ultra-convenient if you’re traveling by train. However, I’d advise you avoid the hotel between mid-May and mid-October, because the guest rooms are as hot as Hades. You can’t open the windows because of the train station & traffic noise. There is some sort of AC, but it’s not effective at all. On the plus side, the overly hot guest rooms are a bit like a free sauna.

Spend more and go somewhere else.
The hotel does not have parking - which is not clear on the hotels.com webpage! There is the Hauptbahnhof underground parking 50m from the hotel, however if you have valuable items in the car you will need to take to your hotel room to avoid theft. Long hairs of previous guest found in shower. Directly above train station, so expect noise - even on 8th floor. Uncomfortable beds.

I was charged more than agreed upon. On Orbitz (including taxes) it was 116.99 euros. When I arrived the staff charged 122 euros. I said it’s not the same amount. He said , oh it’s the city taxes. But the price on orbitz already charged taxes (about 12 euros). It is not appropriate to charge more than agreed upon.

Although the hotel’s location is excellent (just besides the train station), walking around at night doesn’t feel safe; there was a fight just around the corner near the train tracks. Police came and took some guys in.
