"The hotel is family-friendly, has a super friendly and attentive staff. It's the oldest property on site, so it could use some renovations, but it has a really cool history. I'd recommend booking the East, West, and Manager's apartments – they offer the most comfort for the price."

"Very nice property that includes a porch/deck on the rear of the cottage where we enjoyed the spectacular views of Core Sound. We also enjoyed a restful week spending time fishing and crabbing and were able to catch enough crabs to prepare crab cakes for one of our evening dinners along with some shrimp and oysters that we purchased from one of the local fish houses. The cottage was very comfortable, clean and well maintained, and we noticed some upgrades have been made to the master bath since our last visit the previous year. Another thing that makes this rental so appealing is that it is a one floor level and has very few steps to negotiate when entering the cottage."

"Parking was easy. The room was clean and nice. Amenities were skimpy. The front door was stuck and difficulty to get in, and impossible to get out. Had to call for help to get the door open. Lovely people and nice views and good location."

"Second stay at this Vrbo. Pictures are accurate and the view is amazing. This Down East area of Carteret County was medicine for my soul. The location is an easy drive to beaches and in town shopping and dining. This place is for those who wish quiet, restful relaxation away from the din of normal city dwelling. If you like gulls, waterbirds, raptors and jumping mullet, then shangrila you may find. The wife must have read three books while there and saltmarsh air works for me better than a beta blocker for my hypertension. kb from sc"

"It was really the perfect place for a couple with a dog. Plenty of room with bedroom and living\dining room well separated. Fulll kitchen. Comfy bed. Really enjoyed the fenced patio with the outdoor shower so you can wash the beach off your and your dog's feet and dry off outside in nature. The whole town is within walking distance from here. Hope to go back soon when the weather is better for Star gazing."
