"outdated hotel"

"First our room was dirty, carpet, and found food remainings on the floor. Carpet was just dirty and the room smell just dirty. We requested to be changed to another room and they requested to upgraded. We did upgrade for $200. More. The food was not what we expected. Just very plain and simple. Did not have hot tea option. We have been to other hotels in Beijing, Xi’an and Shanghai and they absolutely offered much better services. I will not recommend this hotel at all. We will come back to Zhangjiajie, but will stay at a different hotel for sure. For what ever a customer pay, the least we all deserve is a CLEAN ROOM. I hope business owners do take into consideration customers’ reviews. At the end of the day it is up to us to keep your business running. "

"The Grand club room was spacious and with nice view from the 61st Floor. Breakfast had a good variety and taste delicious. There is a mall with direct access from hotel lift lobby. Wuyi shopping district and metro station is within walking distance from hotel. The happy hour had a very good spread and food taste good too. Would definitely stay here again when we come to Changsha ."

"My stay at JW Marriott Hotel Zhengzhou was mixed. There were some genuinely positive aspects, especially the front desk staff and housekeeping team, but there were also several disappointing experiences that affected my overall impression. The first negative impression happened on our arrival day. We had two very large pieces of luggage, and the first thing I remember is that the doorman saw us and seemed to run back into the building instead of helping us. At first, I thought maybe they were not actually hotel staff. But after staying for multiple days, it seemed clear that they were hotel workers. I am still not sure why they reacted that way. Maybe it was because our luggage was oversized, or because we arrived in a dirty cargo vehicle instead of a luxury sedan. A similar situation happened again on another day. My friend and I were in Zhengzhou for some cycling activities, and one day we rode more than 100 km. After such a long ride, we were extremely exhausted. Because it was difficult to find a vehicle that could fit two bicycles, we had to call another cargo van to bring us back to the hotel. When we arrived at the hotel entrance, the doorman approached the driver and tried to direct us to the basement for unloading. It did not feel welcoming at all. Since it was already nighttime and we were completely worn out, we really just wanted to get out of the vehicle at the front door and return to our room. "Pros: the grounds are beautiful, the location is great and close to many natural sites, and our room was large. Cons: food was pretty bad, service was generally bad, HVAC in our room didn’t work well, and the staff didn’t speak much if any English."
