Oceanfront- Sea Gem Cottage

Sea Gem Cottage is an oceanfront home six miles south of Newport, Oregon. Our home now has two bedrooms, one bathroom, and a loft. The entire house has been completely remodeled with the additional bedroom and loft added as of February 2016.

There are bamboo floors throughout the house and travertine tiles in the bathroom. The home is decorated with modern furnishings. There are spectacular views of the beach and surf from every room of the house. The bedrooms have queen beds with storage drawers and wardrobes for your extended stay. The downstairs great room has seating for 6 at the dining table and a wall mounted Smart television with basic cable.

Stairs from the great room lead up to the loft area. Here you can find two twin beds on the garden side of the loft and a lounge area on the ocean side.

The house sits on a 40 foot tall bluff with a private path and stairs leading to the beach. The beach stretches for miles in either direction allowing for long walks on the beach where you rarely encounter another person.

What a lovely stay! The place was clean and you couldn’t ask for a better view and beach access. Backing out of the driveway is tricky but doable. The climb down to the beach could be hard for older people. Make note that there is only a toaster oven, no oven. We absolutely loved it though. It’s quaint and comfortable! We will be back again! It’s adorable!

Awesome and peaceful experience
Every time my husband and I stay here we wish we had stayed longer and book our next stay for the following year. Although it rained the entire time we were there, it was still relaxing and beautiful. The neighboring small towns are fun to explore as well. The South Beach Fish Market just up the street has delicious seafood to take home. We always get the dungeness crabs (eat cold) and this time got halibut and cooked it on the charcoal BBQ for fish tacos. Best we've ever had! The hosts are very responsive and helpful!!

The best VRBO we have ever stayed in
The home was beautiful and very clean. The home also had the most comfortable beds and the warmest bedding. Everything was new and updated. Very cozy home with a beautiful yard. Our only complaint, if you could even call it a complaint, is the driveway. It was so narrow. A truck or SUV would have a very tight fit. Everything else was truly a 10/10 and we fit comfortably with a family of 4.

Fantastic as per usual
This is our second time staying here and both times it has been absolutely wonderful. The cottage is comfortable, quiet, and private; it’s perfect for a family vacation or even if you have to do some remote working like I did. It’s a very cute space that is well furnished, clean, comfortable and has everything one could need to cook your own meals. The ocean view from the backyard is spectacular and the property manager is excellent to deal with. We will definitely come back again next year!

Beach Front Paradise
Beauftiful home has all the amenities and then some. Lots of extra little details. Amazing location. We loved the patios and the beach being feet away from the house. The views were incredible. We even saw a bald eagle and a whale in the distance. Clean, comfortable, quiet, private and close to nearby towns with great restaurants. Many adventures in the area. Perfect litte getaway for our anniversary.
