It was a great stay however the reason I booked was because of the hot tub and the hot tub wasn’t working. I was bummed out but the stay was nice regardless

We were given a bucket, know the risks….
We spent two nights at Villa Oriana Relais and wanted to like. However, the first day we arrived (Sunday), the toilet did not work. We were told it could not be fixed, because plumbers had the day off. Ok…… We were given a bucket, and for the whole day and night had a non-functioning toilet. We were also given a key for a toilet we could use two floors below us. While we like the property and the villa overall, all we were basically told was “ we are sorry”. No compensation, no “sorry we will give you your money back for the day”, just an excuse that “plumbers were all at the beach on Sunday”……The Villa was expensive, and literally nothing for the first day and night. Just a bucket. Hope you don’t get a bucket and nothing to show for it. The family is nice, the breakfast is nice, blah, blah, blah. But no effort to switch our room and no compensation for having to use a bucket. Sorry, but now you know the risks…,..

Property was beautiful with great views. Owner was great and took the time to have a conversation with us, gave us lemonade and cake upon check in, we missed breakfast but they took great care of us and got us coffee and cake! Amazing staff!

Amazing!
Perfect view! Great stuff ( especially the beautiful Colomba)! The breakfast was delicious and all of it from products that the grown in their farm. The room was huge and modern. There is also a parking if you arriving with a car. Note that there isn’t elevator and most of the rooms is in the lower levels.

Beautiful property and lovely hostess. They took wonderful care of my husband and me. The view from their balcony is worth it, but the morning breakfast was the best we had with fresh cakes and pastries. Additionally, we were served freshly squeezed orange juice and lemonade. If you’re coming with luggage from the train station, we recommend arranging a taxi. The property is on a steep hill.

Incredible honeymoon venue
We started our honeymoon in this beautiful villa and couldn’t have been happier with the privacy and restful ambience. The staff made sure it was very special with a beautiful room with a comfortable bed and champagne in the sitting area that lead onto the terrace. We always looked forward to breakfast as home made cakes were made every morning as well as continental favourites. The jacuzzi on the top level was amazing to relax in and take in the incredible view. We had a massage booked for us in our room and wine one of the nights too. They also recommended a few restaurants who did a pick up And drop off service which was much appreciated. The walk up the hill wasn’t too bad also. Would 100% recommend.

So many things to like when staying there. Surrounded by a garden full with lemon trees and olive trees, it offers any visitor the chance for one of the most spectacular views on the Italian coast. When entering the garden, I was impressed on how lemon trees guarded the path to the villa. it gives you a sense of surreal that only handful of locations can offer. Signora Maria and all her team make this place even more special as it become obvious to us how much love and dedication they put in everything they do for visitors to feel exquisite. The breakfast offered is top notch, with so many mouth-watering alternatives, all done the same morning by Signora Maria and her staff. Both I and my daughter are intolerant to gluten and every single day we had special food done for us. I would say that we've been treated in this respect better than everywhere we've been so far on 3 continents in 5 stars locations. And if food will not suffice for one's enjoyment, taking the breakfast on the villa's terrace offering the view of the entire gulf (from Naples and Vesuvius to Ischia Island) in front of your eyes will definitely do that! :) No wonder that in Italian, some call this place: "L'anticamera del Paradiso" All in all, we felt like aristocrats enjoying spending summer on family's "Italian-coast-mansion"! A unique feeling that we'll always associate when remembering about Villa Oriana.

All the glowing reviews made me wonder if it was too good to be true, but I cannot say enough good about our six night stay. Nestled among lemon trees and with a spectacular view looking down on Sorrento and across to Capri and Vesuvius. Maria and her team are extremely helpful and just lovely people. The breakfasts are amazing, her special cakes not to be missed. If you want to be where all the tourists are, this is not the spot for you. If you don't have a car, it may not be ideal unless you like to walk off the breakfast. But if you are looking for a quiet, clean refuge after a day of sightseeing -- jacuzzi with a view included -- put Villa Oriana at the top of your list.

So so so happy in Sorrento!
Maria and her staff take care of you like family. We had only booked 3 nights and loved it so much we booked a 4th while we were there. Room was lovely and everything was immaculate. Lovely home baked snacks are left in your room every afternoon. The grounds are gorgeous - a lemon grove behind the entrance gate takes you to the villa. Maria’s made-from-scratch breakfasts were a visual feast and so delicious. Wonderful tortes, quiches, cakes, fresh fruit, eggs by request, cereal, yogurt, meats and cheeses.....The entire staff was so helpful, assisting us with local logistics and dinner reservations. Really felt like we were visiting family. The only bad thing to say is that we had to leave.

A great place to base a visit to Sorrento, Capri and the Amalfi Coast. Maria and her team met our every need, served an amazing breakfast every morning, made dinner reservations and even drove us into town the first morning. The ground are serene and beautiful. The room was perfect and very clean. We never got the opportunity to use the hot tub but the views from everywhere were spectacular. And the breakfast....great variety, very tasty, great view....and the star of the show.....lemon honey from their own lemons. This was our first stop in Italy ever and set the bar very high for the rest of our stops. And if you need a good place to while away an afternoon with Limoncello spritzers and great snacks, stop into Split.....but be prepared to share with Guinness the dog.....delightful.

The hospitality and quality of service from Maria and her team is simply exceptional. The location is peaceful and serene and a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of Sorrento. You will not be disappointed if you stay here, it’s a beautiful little gem that I can’t recommend enough. Fantastic!!

We loved our stay at Villa Oriana Relais. If we return to Sorrento we will definitely stay at this location again. While the hotel was a bit away from the town we enjoyed being in this quiet peaceful location as we had just traveled from Rome where we stayed overlooking the Pantheon. Our room was comfortable and private. The bathroom was luxurious. The bed was comfortable. The view was spectacular. But... most fabulous of all ... was the breakfast!!! We started each morning enjoying the wonderful breakfast enjoying the view across the terrace. Thank you Maria and all of the staff for your welcome, your warmth and the attention to detail. Very much recommend this as a wonderful base for a tour of the Amalfi coast and all the region has to offer.

Customer service was the best I’ve ever experienced! After a small hiccup the first day, Marie and her staff went above and beyond to correct the confusion and make our stay the best it could be. The included breakfast is truly as delicious as all the reviews you’ve read. We ate so much terrific food during our vacation, but the breakfast was by far our favorite! We looked forward to it EVERY morning. The WiFi worked well. The beds were comfortable. The neighborhood was safe and quiet. There is a bit of a hike to get into town, but not bad. Free shuttles to restaurants were offered and worked well. And staff offered to give us rides when needed. Overall, I can’t say enough how much we enjoyed our time at Villa Oriana.

Excellent hotel! The staff is very helpful. We got a free upgrade and the breakfast is wonderful with lots of homemade goodies to eat. It is situated in a beautiful citrus orchard and has breathtaking views. Some of the nicest people in the business work here.

I honestly can't say enough good things about Villa Oriana Relais!!! Look no further, this is THE BEST hotel in Sorrento! Maria and her staff are wonderful, I have never had such great customer service and attention anywhere in my life. I walked through the lemon and orange orchard and was greeted immediately with fresh lemonade and homemade treats (so good!). The rooms are exceptionally clean and with great air conditioning and exquisite views! Absolutely breathtaking. They have a rooftop jacuzi that overlooks the bay, coupled with the lemonade, it was heavenly. I could go on and on. Additional to the hotel, they offer free shuttle to a couple of restaurants which were superb! The Oriana is walking distance from just about everything including the bus, the train, and the downtown area. I will recommend the Villa Oriana to anyone who will listen! It is, by far, the best! My choice every time, without exception, look no further.

We arrived to a gated driveway which was opened automatically upon arriving, we then followed the perfectly manicured drive up to the front of the beautiful Villa. We immediatiately were greeted by Modica who had someone bring our bags in and deliver them to our room while she escorted out to the beautiful veranda overlooking the sea. She served us fresh lemon iced cake and ice cold lemonade made from their own lemons; awesome way to start our experience. We then unpacked and went to the roof deck to swim in the hot tub before going to dinner. They arranged free shuttle to take us to Restaurant they recommended and it was my favorite meal on our 19 day trip. Breakfast was 5 star quality; all freshly baked by Maria the proprietor. Entire staff was friendly, helpful and just amazing. Sorrento did not disappoint; shopping fantastic, swimming at their beach and overall highly recommend on your trip down the Amalfi Coast

I couldn’t wait to return to my fourth stay at Villa Oriana so I booked two rooms - one for my friend and her husband to celebrate her birthday, and one for my fiancé and myself. Both rooms were amazing with a beautiful Jr. Suite upgrade for my birthday friend! By now I have stayed in most of the rooms, that are all elegantly decorated with much attention to detail, and have a private terrace or patio. I was so happy to share this experience once again with my fiancé, friends, Donna Maria and her wonderful staff. Every stay is so memorable! We all enjoyed the outstanding breakfast with delicious homemade quiche, exquisite cakes and pastries, fresh tomatoes, fruit, locally made marmellata and mozzarella cheese. I can’t wait to return - maybe for a dream honeymoon?

I cannot express highly enough my recommendation to enjoy a stay at Villa Oriana Relais! This was my third stay since 2007 with a friend, then returned with my now fiancé in 2016 and the reason I wanted to return to Sorrento this year. Donna Maria and her welcoming staff always make us feel like VIPs, just as they do with each guest. They surpass any expectations with their attention to detail at their lovely property in the hills of Sant’Agnello/Sorrento, set within fragrant lemon trees. The limonata and homemade cake served to us were refreshing upon our arrival before we settled into our luxurious room with private terrace. Every room is clean, comfortable and well-attended, and all I have stayed in have had a patio or terrace. We have enjoyed the jacuzzi on the top patio with an unforgettable view! We looked forward to the lovely breakfast buffet with freshly squeezed orange juice and homemade delicacies lovingly prepared by Donna Maria, which cannot be topped. Their elegant presentation on family porcelain china still maintains a warm, family atmosphere while we enjoyed breakfast on the main terrace with other guests. The amazing views of Mt. Vesuvio overlooking the groves and town below are breathtaking! Whether you want a romantic getaway or a family vacation, you will love Villa Oriana Relais!!!

What a lovely place and the staff are top notch! Breakfast is the continental variety but with very fresh ingredients and with homemade cakes also. Nice room and very clean with a balcony. After travelling 49 countries last year i stayed in a lot of hotels, i can only say the service would rank in the top 3 that i had visited (and i think i'm being mean there!!) The hotel is located on a hill in very nice grounds with lemon and orange trees greeting your entrance. Hotel is about 1.5km from the centre and very quiet but still close enough to enjoy the sorrento nightlife. Well done Villa oriana, the staff have got it perfect and can only recommend a stay for others if you want to be close but not too close to the centre

Highly highly recommend. Check in - we arrived early and were greeted with delicious freshly baked cake and lemon juice from the lemon orchard outside the hotel. Magnificent views from the terrace. Staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Location - we did not have a car, and the hotel is quite a way up a very steep path - not for the faint-hearted, but a great way to burn off the calories from the delicious breakfast in and out of Villa Oriana. Room - absolutely spotless - couldn't fault anything, with great amenities - shower gel to die for, and probably the best wifi I have ever had in any hotel. Room was spacious with a terrace and the smell of lemon blossoms was almost overpowering. Peaceful and the bed so comfortable. Breakfasts - cannot rave enough. Maria the owner bakes fresh cakes every morning, and for each of the three mornings we were there, there was no repetition. Also a savoury quiche and omelette together with fresh bread, tomatoes and local mozzarella cheese. Lovely Italian coffee and someone in attendance to cater to every whim. I was fortunate to spend my birthday in Sorrento and was presented with the most beautiful cake and staff singing to me at breakfast. The solarium and jacuzzi were closed as it was not warm enough yet, but we had a peek and it would be a lovely place to spend a hot afternoon. I will definitely recommend this place - better than some five star hotels I have stayed in, and I am a picky guest!

I stayed here with my husband and 2 children for a week whist in sorrento for a wedding, and Villa oriana relais was everything we had hoped for and more. Not only is it as beautiful as the pictures, but the staff are utterly fantastic! Nothing is too much trouble and they are the friendliest staff we have ever come across. Although the location is not central, it is accessible to town, and the views from being out of town are worth it. The breakfast is amazing, with everything prepared fresh that day by the amazing owner. Can't recommend this place enough. xx

Gorgeous small hotel in a lovely setting (a lemon grove overlooking Sorrento). From the moment we arrived we were made to feel at home - nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The room and other areas were finished to a really high standard. The breakfasts were delicious (Maria gets up every morning at 5am to make a selection of fresh cakes for breakfast). The hot tub and sun area was great for relaxation and there is a swimming pool at another hotel five minutes away if you want to use it. About a 20 minute walk or five minute taxi drive into the centre of Sorrento. A fantastic holiday destination.

The stay in Villa was amazing. It was actually the best place we stayed during our one week holidays in Campania. The views and breakfast just amazing :) The distance to the old town is not a short one, but very easily reachable by Taxi. Highly recommend and will certainly come back if I will be around.

Maria and her staff were wonderful. After leaving and on our way to our train in Naples we realized that we had forgotten our passports in our room's safe. We contacted the hotel and they arranged to meet us part way back in an effort to help us make our train. The place was great in an orange/lemon grove. The breakfast was the best yet. The room was clean, large and comfortable. The bathroom spacious.

This beautifully decorated villa is set in its own lemon grove, overlooking Sorrento, and the wonderful staff and owner, Maria, made us so welcome from the very start; we didn't want to leave! It is a little bit of a walk into town, but this just means it is away from the hustle and bustle and allows you to walk off the amazing breakfast!

Our family of six enjoyed wonderful breakfasts every morning! Our stay in the apartment was perfect for our needs: comfortable, roomy quiet and private. The staff was very helpful with helping us book a winery tour, giving suggestions on other places to visit in the area and general directions for the area. Even though we rented a car, we enjoyed the (steep) walk into town almost every day so we didn't have to worry about parking. The area is very safe. We even let our young adult children go into town by themselves one night. Sorrento is a beautiful setting with cliffs, the Bay of Naples and all the fresh lemon trees!

Beautiful setting high on the hill over looking Sorrento and the bay of Napoli. Driving through the lemon trees and then being greeted by a beautiful large house sets the stage for a wonderful stay. Maria and all the team go out of their way to ensure you have a great stay. Make sure you try Maria's lemonade and limoncello, superb! Plus an amazing breakfast each day (I hope you like freshly baked cake for breakfast because you are going to get 3 of them!) Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and be spoiled for a few days in Sorrento.
