Recently renovated, Blue Mountain Retreat is relaxing fall, winter, spring or summer. Located in the heart of Laurel Highlands about a mile from Kooser State Park nestled between Hidden Valley, Seven Springs and Laurel Mountain ski resorts, this family and pet friendly cabin in the woods has everything you need to enjoy an outdoor getaway. Travelers have enjoyed this cozy home in the mountains as a solo rejuvenating escape for 1, a romantic getaway for 2, a family vacation, or a get together with friends/extended family.

Nearby attractions include hiking, biking, skiing, fishing, golfing, star gazing, bird watching, restaurants, spas and more. Enjoy the many trails and ponds nearby at Kooser (2 minute drive), Laurel Hill (7 minute drive) or Forbes (12 minute drive) State Parks. Bike the GAP trail at Rockwood just 15 minutes away. Check out the local resorts for food, golf, spas, mountain biking, special events, skiing and more at Hidden Valley (5 minute drive), Seven Springs (17 minute drive), or Laurel Mountain (30 minute drive). Peruse the local towns of Somerset (15 minute drive), Ligonier (30 minute drive) or Ohiopyle (34 minute drive) for restaurants, shopping, white water rafting and trails. Local attractions also include Idlewild, Caddyshack, Living Treasures Animal Park, Laurel Caverns, Jennerstown Speedway, Fort Ligonier and more! Even though you will feel like you are in the middle of the woods in a peaceful setting, if you forget anything a gas station/convenience store is only a 2 minute drive away and a grocery store is only a 20 minute drive away.

Once you settle in, you will enjoy a backyard with a picnic table, gas grill, bonfire pit, and hot tub or the spacious kitchen and spa soaker tub in the first floor bathroom. Excellent WiFi service will help you stay connected to friends, family, and work (Gasp! Only if necessary...you should be relaxing!) or allow you to finally binge watch that series you always wanted to see. A variety of games, foosball, and darts will help you stay entertained and unplug from screens too!

3 bedrooms and 2 baths accommodates a maximum of 8 people and 2 well behaved, house trained dogs. There is an additional $30 per night pet fee when fur family joins you at the cabin. Please be sure to check the pet box when booking to pay during booking your reservation, or pay it before your arrival.

If you have additional people or pets in your party, please message to inquire about also renting Mountain Grove (with indoor treehouse kid gaming room also accommodating up to 8 people. See VRBO.com/3615517 ) adjacent to Blue Mountain Retreat. Multiple families have enjoyed renting both cabins for relaxing family reunions or birthday celebrations.

The location off of 31 makes it easily accessible year round, but far enough off the road to be peacefully tucked in the woods. A limit of 3 cars per cabin has to be maintained because there is no overflow parking available nearby (AWD or 4WD vehicles during the winter months of snow are required for ease of access). Visitors should be accounted for in your reservation.

Load and start the dishwasher
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Leave hot tub at 100 degrees
Turn off air conditioning window units in bedrooms. Turn furnace thermostat to 55. Close and lock all windows and doors.
Start a laundry washer load of towels on hot. Do not over stuff load. Leave any extra dirty towels on the floor in front of the washer.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Great cabin for staying just a few minutes from Hidden Valley which is perfect for young children. Also went to Seven Springs twice. Plenty of room in the mudroom to dry off gear and the hot tub was lovely. Would stay again!

Great place, plenty of room to enjoy with family and friends. Hot tub was amazing after a long day of skiing or tubing. Would recommend if going to that area. Close to several ski resorts.

Lisa went above and beyond helping us to settle into the cabin. She gave us so many wonderful suggestions for fun activities and great food…all within a short drive. Amazing spot for a weekend ‘retreat.’

Our family enjoyed a perfect fall weekend at the Blue Mountain retreat. Amazing location with close proximity to so many great hiking trails! Very clean home with all the amenities one would need. We loved grilling, looking at the stars from the hot tub, and making s’mores over the fire. The owner was extremely responsive and helpful. Highly recommend and hope to visit again in the future! Our entire family had a wonderful time!

Great Family get away

The house was very clean. There is lots to do. There is darts and foosball, the hot tub and the big soaking tub. My family used everything there and had a great time. The host is super nice and answers questions asap! Would definitely stay here again. There are very close neighbors but no one was renting their other cabin while we were there. We were able to bring our dog along too which was great!

Golf Trip

This is an awesome property! We stayed with 8 guys and slept comfortably with plenty of space to sleep and plenty of space to hang out as a group. The backyard was great with all the amenities. Lisa is amazing! She is extremely thorough and makes sure you have everything you need. Look no further if you have 2 groups wanting play golf at 7 springs and hidden valley!

Friends sharing house

The house was very clean, fully stocked with kitchen appliances and tools, and located on a quiet street. It was a reasonable price since we split the cost between 7 of us. If you were to reserve it for 8 people, make sure that some of you are okay with sleeping in bunkbeds. There is a queen and king size bed and 2 sets of bunk beds (4 beds). Lisa, the owner, was excellent with communicating information.

Blue Mountain Retreat was perfect!

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Blue Mountain Retreat this past weekend. From the moment we arrived at the property, we were swept up in the ski cabin atmosphere while still enjoying the comforts of a fully modern home. We were very impressed with how close Hidden Valley Ski Resort was from the cabin. We also found Seven Springs and Laurel ski resorts a short, easy drive from the cabin. We were also impressed by the uniqueness of all three ski resorts. We were thankful it was easy to ski at all three, because each offered a unique experience. The Oakhurst Grille was very close to the cabin, and we found the food to be both delicious, varied, and reasonably priced. We also stopped by Giant Eagle, which was close by, and grabbed a few groceries for the cabin's modern kitchen. We utilized both the Kerig and drip coffee makers and found both easy to use and in great condition. We also used the oven and refrigerator, which were both in great condition and user-friendly. The hot tub and wooded yard were huge assets to this property. The hot tub was in perfect working condition. It was hot, and all of the jets were working. We also enjoyed the picnic table and fire-pit area. The cabin was set up remarkably well for skiers. We easily found places to hang our ski clothes and place our ski equipment. We also used the washer and drier since it rained during our visit. We were quickly able to wash and dry everything. The bed was comfortable, and there were a var

The description and location of the property was precisely as advertised. No surprises whatsoever and we enjoyed our stay in the home very much. What cannot be "seen" or "viewed" on the site is the degree to which Lisa, the host, communicated and assisted in every component our visit. When asked for recommendations for hikes, activities and restaurants in the area, she not only provide information, but also wise guidance based on her own experiences. She made the entire process from booking through check-out incredibly simple even helping change the reservation when VRBO systems weren't cooperating. Additionally, her response time to inquiries was nearly always immediate. If you are looking for a deciding factor in choosing one option over another in the Laurel Highlands, this property's host should make that decision easy!

Great pet friendly cabin near Seven Springs. Location is perfect for Falling Water, Seven Springs and other attractions. We enjoyed the hot tub, backyard picnic, fire-pit, and hot tub area.
