Arctic light hut by Interhome

250 km to the North from Rovaniemi, nearby Saariselkä travel center, Kiilopää, Kakslauttanen and Urho Kekkonen national park. Sivakkaoja-stream 60 m.

Wooden hut with a partial glass roof (for watching northern lights), built in 2018. Ideal destination in winter time for observing the northern lights and the night sky from indoor. The glass roof on the north side. In summer time, hut is lighted by the summer night sun (no curtains). There are two beds under the glass roof, kitchen, washroom/WC and vestibule.
The glass roof is heated, so it stays clear despite of changing weather. Bed linen/towels and final cleaning are included in rent. The cabin is equipped with an air source heat pump, which can also be used for cooling in summer. Wireless internet in the cabin (WiFi). No TV.

Arctic Light Hut is a cabin with amenities in a calm and beautiful area. Urho Kekkonen National Park, Kiilopää and services of the Saariselkä travel center are well accessible. Distance to the border of the national park is 2 km along the path (distance along the road is 3 km).

Hiking center Tievatupa (open in seasons) 250 m, restaurant Aurora Queen 800 m, Wilderness hotel Muotka in the other side of Sivakkaoja-stream 150 m (distance along the road is 1,5 km), Kiilopää 5,5 km, Saariselkä 14 km.
Lighted ski trail, distance 100 m.
The airport bus stop 1 km.
Free parking and power socket for car heating.

Winter wonderland

It has been a dream of mine to visit Finland in the winter. This year it became possible. When I started looking for places to stay, the cabin popped up in my search.I loved it here and this area. I am not a skier, but found plenty of hiking trails so I was able to do a different route everyday of my four days here.The cabin was cozy, had all the amenities I needed, and I was so grateful they even had hiking poles after mine were confiscated at a security checkpoint at an airport.While I was in the area, I saw more of this style of cabin, but they were grouped in large numbers. I appreciated the quiet and solitude of this location.I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Klein aber fein

Kleine Hütte, aber sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Wir waren zu zweit, für uns war der Platz ausreichend und wir hatten alles was wir gebraucht haben da. Einziger Mangel (für mich) war dass die Matratze etwas zu hart war. Ich habe aber chronische Rückenschmerzen, deshalb nicht jede Matratze für mich komfortabel ist.
