Perfect for family gathering

The set up was perfect for our gathering. The jacuzzi, sauna and natural pool, a real plus. The Lime House was really well equipped and laid out with plenty of space for children and adults to have fun. Staff team were very responsive and helpful. Highly recommend.

Comfortable & cozy with great support from staff

We got married in the Millhouse and booked this accomodation for friends and family to stay for the weekend. The Rock Farm staff were so kind and helpful. They were available to help us plan our logisitcs before the stay and attentive throughout. They went above and beyond to help us with little things (e.g. sourcing limited edition Slane whiskey when the castle was closed & looking after personal belongings we left behind until collection!) They couldn't have done more for us - Thank you!

Group stay for wedding at castle

The house was lovely, easy access to town and beautifully situated along the river. Rooms were clean and there was plenty of common space for us. Wonderful experience.

4/10 Poor

Spring clean and maintenance needed

Beds were very comfy, instructions were clear for all the codes for entry etc, a fine house in need of maintenance. Windows were hard to see through, skirting boards dusty. Door saddle in bedroom was broken and my sister got stuck in her room. There was no socket to charge her phone in her room either. Overall it's a fine house but it needs attention to detail and the garden needs to be cutback and maintained

6/10 Okay

A pleasant stay for a group of 5 adults but mixed feelings due to the overall condition of the house

Pros: - Beautiful peaceful scenic location with access to historical locations. As a group coming from all corners of the country it was nice to find somewhere so conveniently central and not too off-the-beaten-track. - Self check-in experience was extremely convenient, everything we needed to know was communicated well in advance. Cons: - We had quite a number of issues with cleanliness and disrepair throughout the property, which impacted our value-for-money score and makes us reluctant to recommend the property as it currently is. I'll reach out to Rock Farm team directly with specifics as there is opportunity there for some quick wins to improve future guest experience.

NEEDED TO STAY OVER FOR A WEDDING ON THE GROUNDS

We were booked in for a wedding on the grounds. When we arrived for the self service check - in we were informed that there would be a list of who was staying where in the house. There was no list, nor anyone available to tell us who was where. As we were all related to the Bride, we worked it out for ourselves. The place was fairly clean, bar a few spiders webs about. The big problem we had was there was no mattress protector on the bed, so we removed the Duvet from its cover and used this beneath us to keep us a little farther away from the stained mattress. The wedding went off fine and everything there was great, but I could not recommend anyone to stay at The River House, unless they get new mattresses there.

Great stay but just a few small touch ups could go a long way

House and gardens are beautiful. Could definitely be cleaner and a freshen up with paint would go a long way. Providing some wine/champagne glasses would be great. Frying pans not in a great condition and could be replaced. Blind in downstairs twin room was broken and needs new holes/wall plugs to attach back to window.

excellent comfortable home for a compact company

We had a good time at the River House, we felt spacious and comfortable there, in the morning we listened to the birds singing and the sound of a rushing river, and in the evening we enjoyed the warmth and sound of crackling wood in the fireplace. Thank you

Short stay in slane

Great stay with a group of girls , unfortunately there was a group booking so we couldn’t book the pizza oven , hot tub or kayaking. There is plenty to do around slane itself so we found other activities to do . The house itself is comfortable, close to the town and has everything you would need available. If I was to be critical at all the house could do with a fresh coat of paint and the garden had dog dirt lying around but it’s coming to the end of the season so il put it down to that being the reason . I would definitely book again but make sure the activities were available first . Also the locals are extremely friendly and accommodating. We went to boyles pub and the bar man gave two of the girls a lift home . Great little bakery up in the village with homemade cakes and bread . Overall great stay .
