To know: the road is unmarked and the water is solar-heated, so you'll want to time your showers (or outdoor bath!) for maximum heat. All- or four-wheel-drive is also helpful for getting up there - if you're struggling coming from town, going past the turn-off and turning around gives you a muuuch easier angle. "

We drove through a crazy thunderstorm to reach Monteverde and were welcomed by the gorgeous oasis surrounding Casa Mia. If you enjoy being lulled to sleep by rain in a supremely comfortable bed and waking each morning to the beauty of the cloud forest outside the floor to ceiling windows, we absolutely recommend this amazing property! The son of the hosts was wonderful in providing onsite support when we had questions about the Monteverde area, which was greatly appreciated. We have stayed in VRBO homes throughout the US and abroad and Casa Mia is definitely in the exceptional category!
