Felt like being at a real hotel - nice room, comfy bed, good shower. Food in restaurant was good local wholesome food. The staff were absolutely excellent - helpful with anything we wanted. Best place we have stayed so far on our trip around Iceland!

Great stay at Hotel Varmahlíð as we drove the Ring Road. Friendly staff, comfortable beds, easy parking and clean room. We enjoyed the dinner and breakfast from their hotel restaurant.

The location was very convenient and the room was comfortable. The only reason I gave one star off for comfort is because our room was directly above the entry door and people hung out below, and it was a little loud at times other than that it was a wonderful experience with delicious food at the restaurant. I would stay here again.

This quant hotel is family ran. They let us come one day early and leave one day early which was so appreciative! They were so kind and the food was great. Everything was great but it is slightly dated. Our room was clean but didn’t feel as clean as it could have been like it might need a deep clean or something. Overall I would still stay here again. It’s quite remote on your way around the ring road so I felt it was the best option we saw and I can only imagine running the entire hotel as a small family can be a lot. I had the cod for dinner and it was delicious, I would order it again if I came back. The view from our room was really pretty as well!

Easy check-in. Great on-site restaurant, although like the rest of Iceland, food is not cheap. Very comfortable room. Bathroom was very small.

I’d stay there again

The furniture and carpet is dated but otherwise it was a very nice stay. The staff was nice and spoke English well, the room was comfortable, and the meals (dinner and breakfast) were good. The hotel was quiet indoors and there was no noise from outside. It’s conveniently located on the ring road. Check in and check out was easy.

Great hotel! Staff were amazing. Rooms spacious and clean. Restaurant was quite limited. Small gas station/convenience store across the street, otherwise for anything else it’s a 30 minute drive. Was everything we needed though. Would stay here again.

Staff helpful. All basic amenities (even shampoo conditioner and bath gel!) and a hot water kettle. Helpful for us tea drinkers. Restaurant serves good horse and lamb steaks at reasonable price (by Icelandic standard) and a good breakfast spread. Easy to locate just off the round island Hwy 1.
