"The property was undergoing a major expansion in the early construction stage, but a significant effort was obvious to shield, and make safe, the front outdoor amenity area from the construction area. There were no adverse effects on the running of the hotel. On arrival at the car park, work was ongoing to maintain the gardens and outside wall plastering/painting - this was positive. The room and public areas were clean and well-run - parts had that “old school comfort” feel."

"Our room was situated at the top of the main building with a beautiful view towards St Ives town and the surrounding area. We were supplied with a fan which was essential due to the hot weather. There were a few maintenance issues with our room which included a drawer front within the wardrobe falling open every time you opened the door. The shower head was small and the bottom of the rail had a part that kept falling off. These are small matters but it shows that the room was a bit tired. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was very clean. Overall we appreciated the hospitality from the staff and the ease of parking which was included in the price of the stay. The outdoor pool was excellent."
