"For the place it's nice hotel. It has some flaws but overall I'd go there again. Hotel is nicely designed but the rooms could be better equipped. We had full board, the buffet breakfast could be better, but I understand they can't put tons of food for total aprox 10 people accommodated in the hotel during our stay. The lunch and dinner was excellent. "

"Staff were very kind and courteous. The spa treatments were great, we got them at the Irma spa and they were lovely. We did the mirror pool and mud pool + short massage, which made the trip worth it. The area itself is really beautiful, green and nice to walk around / have a drink. Also there are restaurants nearby in town which are really nice. Overall a nice trip but the other reviews are right that the property itself is dated. First impression on arrival wasn’t great but stay was nice...

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Šípkové?
The best area to stay in Šípkové is within the village itself, particularly near the main square or along the road leading to the church.

Šípkové is a small, quiet village, so the "best area" refers to the core of the community. This typically involves properties situated close to the village's central green or the historic church of St. Catherine of Alexandria. These locations offer easy access to the local amenities, which primarily consist of a few small shops and the village pub. The surrounding countryside is easily accessible from any point in the village.

For couples seeking a peaceful retreat, staying within the village centre is ideal. It offers a chance to experience rural Slovakian life at a relaxed pace, with opportunities for gentle walks in the surrounding fields and forests. The quiet setting is great for disconnecting and enjoying each other's company.

Families will also find the village centre suitable. The absence of heavy traffic makes it a pleasant environment for children to explore safely, and there are open spaces for them to play.
