Goondiwindi Tourist Park

"Very short check-in time (2 -5?). Went to notify staff that was missing a hand towel just after 5pm but already shut office, rubbish bin in room smelt like an ash-tray (I’ve never smoked and room supposed to be smoke free) and my sock picked up a thick white hair that could only come from a dog (I have never owned a dog) that suggests a dog had previously been in the room despite the cabin being strongly advertised as being dog free). Floor was buckled in the bathroom from leaky shower. Window curtains to all rooms (including bedroom) so thin that they were semi-transparent; a peeping Tom could watch you inside undress. I notified my wife to ensure all lights were first turned off!! Note that this is a gated compound. Gates are shut at 4pm. You have to get out of your car to type in padlock combo to open gate. drive through, jump out to then shut gate. Living in Tanzania! Then saw conditions of cabin rent was to remove all rubbish from cabins, which I abided by, but thought that this ought to be normal cleaning after a motel rental. Yeah, no."

"Immaculate rooms that look like they are brand new. Better than you expect from most regional towns. Perfect location too, right in the heart of the main street with food options and great coffee nearby. The restaurant/pub attached was also really good and clearly popular with the locals. Would 100% stay here again for my next visit to town."
