  • The California Condor was a common sight along the Columbia River in Lewis and Clark's day. By the early 1980's, there were only twenty-two left on the face of the planet, all in California. Today, thanks to a massive effort to re-populate the species via in-captivity pairing, there are some two-hundred members. But their recovery is far from assured. The Oregon Zoo has undertaken its own recovery effort whose ultimate goal is the re-introduction of the species into the protected wilderness area around the Columbia River Gorge. In short, to bring them home. For now, they live out their days in a vast, outdoor aviary designed specifically to mimic their habitat in the wild. If you have never seen one up close before, I urge you to come take a look. They are larger than any flying bird you will ever see, unless you go to Peru. And though black and white practically from head to toe, their plumage shines and reflects the light like dark, polished metal. If that doesn't suit your fancy, I will tell you that, as with all big birds, if you wait around long enough, they will do something so awe-inspiring that it will take your breath away, and something so goofy that you will laugh out loud. Our large family group had a great time. The home is spacious and well appointed. The beds were all comfortable. It is very close to a cute walking area in town. The game room is a huge bonus. We would definitely stay here again.

This property was not only welcoming and comfortable but also SO clean, spacious, fun for our kids, and accommodated everyone individually. The surrounding area is SO cute, and there are restaurants and shops within walking distance. This home is well cared for, immaculate, and just gorgeous. You will not be upset with this home, and I plan to return next time I am in Sherwood. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

The house was in immaculate condition. The location to everything was within walking distance of shops, restaurants, cafés, and bars. The amenities in the house were unbelievable, there was a game room set up for the kids with two standalone arcade games foosball table TV couch then all the bedrooms were perfectly furnished. The washer dryer area was great since we had so many people. The kitchen and all the utensils pots and pans coffee maker was perfect. Complementary wine was waiting for us. The barbecue area was perfect with the seating areas enough for all our guests and all of us. The hot tub was nice, the one downside would be it needed to be cleaned and we alerted the host about that and they took care of it right away. Do not pass up this VRBO if you’re coming to Sherwood, Oregon, you will not be disappointed!
