About this property
King One Bedroom, Converted 1894 Historic Hotel, Downtown Buffalo Wyoming
We are a seasonal, pet free, boutique hotel with full service vacation rentals, located in the converted Historic Capitol Hotel Building. We have converted the historic hotel rooms into spacious full service vacation rentals. Our rentals are located on the upper floor with NO LIFT. We cater to travelers from all over the world from May -October. We are located on Main Street in the heart of the downtown historic district of Buffalo Wyoming.
The Coyote Suite has been converted from 4 of the original hotel rooms and has a lovely open floor plan. Walking into the Coyote Suite you will find yourself in the kitchen, to the right takes you into the bathroom/ laundry room, to the left would take you into the living room and then into the bedroom. The bedroom in the Coyote suite has a King bed, central air conditioning, closet, vanity, mirror and flat screen television. The living room has an open floor concept with a sofa bed, cable television and WiFi. There is a handmade wood carved bar type counter dividing the living area and kitchen. There are stools at the counter for dining or viewing the morning news. The bathroom in this suite is huge! We have a walk in shower, toilet, sink, vanity and mirror. Soft towels and toiletries are provided, you will also find a washing machine, clothes dryer, iron and ironing board in this area. Our kitchen is equipped with a stove, oven, refrigerator, air fryer, microwave, coffee and tea kettle. All your cooking necessities are tucked in the cabinets. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, breakfast bars and Italian homemade baked goods are replenished daily.
Our walls are warped and our floors are slanted. We restored her history and bought in most of todays comforts like running water, electric, heat and air conditioning. Walk the floors the cowboys did over 100 years ago while you check out the" secret back staircase" that allowed the "ladies of the night" access to the second floor brothel. Our location can't be beat, We are located among the downtown dinning and shopping district. Crazy women square for city events is located across the street and George Washing Park is located one block behind us. The George Washing Park is home to Wyoming's largest swimming pool, tennis courts, playground and walking paths.
Get the real old west feel while staying in cowboy country. Check out the back staircase that was built for the “ Ladies of the night” to use while hiding from the “ decent folk” on Main Street. Walk the same floors many cowboys did, we renovated around the original 100 year old toilet “ water Closet ” . Today, it still sits at the rear of the hallway! >Take a step back in time in one of Buffalo’s oldest downtown buildings. You will not find an elevator here, therefore you must be able to walk the 26 steps to the second floor, as the cowboys did over 100 years ago.
With a few buildings separating us from restaurants and pubs, a quiet evening awaits you in The Historic Capitol Hotel Suites.

The place was so well put together and big and open. Bed was comfortable, I had everything I needed, it was quiet and the hosts were so responsive! Plus side there is a sporting goods store downstairs to pick up everything I needed for fishing and hiking. Walk to restaurants was right down the road. I would for sure stay here again. I was hiking in the bighorn mountains which are just a few miles away!
This was the most perfect place. It was like a little apartment, spacious and had everything we needed. Bedroom, Living room, kitchen and batch with laundry. it was furnished very well and so cute and just had everything to make our stay wonderful!
The Coyote Suite worked perfectly for my our family visit to Buffalo. The location was right on Main, allowed us to pop into town and walk around, and it's conveniently located to a local park with nature trails to explore. Cindy was very hospitable and checked in regularly to see if we needed anything. It was a great little place to be.

Living History
We just loved our renovated suite at the old Capitol Hotel right on Main Street in quaint, historic Buffalo.
The accommodations are spacious, comfortable and unique. The price is very reasonable for the amount of space and extra amenities but the best part is feeling the history of the place....." if these walls could talk...."
Perfect blend of Wild West authenticity and modern convenience.
Long flight of stairs..... the air conditioning wasnt even turned on, so this old building that had a musty smell like an old library, smelled even worse. The smell was just horrible and i could smell it in my clothes. Needs fresh paint and an upgrage. I dont want to see an antique side bed toilet on display in the bathroom....
Great place to stay. Owners are receptive and reply to any questions / issues very quickly. Loved it. Lots of character!

Very spacious and comfortable. Very nice to have washer and dryer available. Owner had everything we needed in place. It was a nice surprise to have snacks and treats available. It was stated in the description that the sweet was a walk-up but be aware that it is a very steep staircase.
Wow! This was a unique, clean, comfortable and well accommodated location for my wife and I to use as a basecamp for hiking and backpacking in the Bighorn National Forest and the Cloud Peak Wilderness Area. It's essential four original hotel rooms connected to make a single living space. The kitchen is well stocked with all the necessities and more (e.g., panini press, air fryer...). The spacious laundry/bathroom was great for us to throw a load of dusty hiking clothes in wash before going to bed so we didn't have so much laundry to do when we got home. The bed was very comfortable. I loved the old wooden floors. I'm not sure if we ever had neighbors because the rooms were so quiet.
Cynthia and her husband were great hosts. We arrived to homemade rhubarb muffins, and later in the week, they brought over zucchini bread and oatmeal raisin cookies. When I went to use the gas grill, the tank was empty. I texted Cynthia and in less than 5 minutes it was replaced.
We didn't pull out the couch, but there is plenty of room for 2 more in the space.
Buffalo is a good starting point for a lot of the local trailheads. If you're not into hiking, the town has some unique little shops, including Sports Lure just downstairs that can equip you with pretty much any fishing, hunting, camping and hiking equipment. There are several nice restaurants in town (we unfortunately didn't try any) and a couple grocery stores if you want to cook your own like we did.
We will definitely return!
Well cared for old hotel. Only difficulty was the rather steps....which we discovered after saying we didnt need help with our luggage....overall it was a great experience.
Great Location and Cindy was always there to answer any questions about the area or property. Beds were very comfortable and the property was fun to stay in: very clean and quite. You can’t find a better place to stay when in Buffalo WY. Don’t miss the truly wonderful experience when in Buffalo . The Buffalo Suite is roomy for a large family or anyone that want lots of space to spread out. We’ll be back when we revisit the area.
Our stay was just perfect. The owner was more than accommodating for our family. She made down the sofa bed for our kids, provided yummy treats and snacks, and even made a special trip over to bring us lawn chairs for the local parade. Its the ideal location in town. We were able to walk the entire stay.
This was a perfect place to stay for the night on our way the the Grand Tetons. Thank you!

Excellent
This was by far one of the BEST VRBO's we have ever rented. The property is over 100 years old with a lot of the historic features still intact.
( original water cooler in place along with bullet holes from an old cowboy fight)
Our suite or you could say apartment was huge. Is was converted from four of the original Hotel ones . Very large , bright and clean place. I was glad to be out of the car for a few days as everything is right outside on Main Street. We LOVED this place and will definitely be returning

Beautiful historic apartment in the heart of Buffalo.
We spent one fantastic night in the Coyote Suite. Very well equipped, clean and comfortable. Cindy (owner) was very helpful with everything and it was great to spend a little time visiting with her. We will certainly stay at this property again if we ever find ourselves in Buffalo.
