We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at Stoney Creek. Our family enjoyed the views and walking alongside the creek -- would definitely return for our next trip to Alaska! The place had everything we needed, especially for cooking some of the fish we caught in Seward! Would 100% recommend.
Property was excellent. Very clean & spacious for my Dad & I. Unfortunately we couldn't write in the guest book because I had no pen & couldn't find one there.
Ben was a great host. The tiny house was designed uniquely so people can move around smoothly. Lots of outside activities that could be used and cook a meal over an open fire.
Fantastic property. Would highly recommend for a couple to stay. The view from the shower to the river is awesome. Tiny home was well thought out and well stocked kitchen. A lot of nice touches inside. Great base case to explore the area
Ben & Rebecca were both incredibly kind and sweet. Our family loved our stay and had only positive things to say about our time here! Beautiful new home, best scenic views. Had a wonderful time with you both and we will definitely be back one day! Thank you so much.
The Tiny House at Bear Creek was beautiful- so well done in every way. The construction and attention to detail in every way are obvious. The location is out of the hustle bustle but very convenient to all the sites we had on our list to see. The area is phenomenal - breathtaking art every turn. We absolutely loved it and cannot recommend it highly enough!
This was a beautiful piece of property and lovely home. It was nicely decorated, clean, and had a well equipped kitchen with a few snacks and bottled water available. A nice touch! The laundry area was needed and perfect. We enjoyed drinks around the fire pit while listening to the creek which was fun! The master bedroom is beautiful. Ben, the host was great! He was very responsive, very helpful and easy to communicate with. A few things I think that are good to know…there were no blackout curtains so that was a little challenging with the long summer days. My son is 6’3” and slept on the hideaway and it unfortunately had that pesky bar, uncomfortable bar across his back but it was fine for a night. The bathroom is upstairs. Those are just things I think one should know. As for our overall stay it was wonderful and I would highly recommend it. The space was peaceful, quiet and close to Seward.
Awesome accommodation only minutes away from downtown Seward yet feels completely secluded. The host built the cabin from scratch not long ago so it still feels brand new, and their care for the place really shines through its tasteful furnishings and personal touches. The rooms are cozy yet well utilized, and the kitchen is equipped with everything needed for an extended stay. Highlight for us was probably sitting by the creek that runs right through the backyard. Highly recommend the Retreat at Stoney Creek to all respectful travelers, as its combination of natural settings comfort value easily beats any hotel room in the area hands down.
Beautiful, new cabin with an excellent fire pit overlooking the river. Ben built the cabin himself and put some wonderful personal touches in the craftsmanship. We would definitely stay here again.
Ben’s cottage was immaculately clean and well designed. Situated just outside Seward, overlooking the river in a quiet street with plenty of outdoor space. Everything you could need was provided and the view of the mountain from the shower was pretty amazing!By far the best property we’ve stayed in and we’d love to come back.
The host was incredibly kind and thoughtful, everything guests might need was already there, including cream in the fridge, coffee, and fresh sheets and blankets. The apartment is well equipped and had everything I needed.
Since our stay in Seward was rainy and we didn’t have the best experience exploring there, Ben's place made us feel warm and comfortable, and it helped at least give us some good memories from that town.
Also, the place was super clean, and it felt really comfortable from the moment we arrived. Communication was also great: the host was chill, very responsive, and friendly throughout our messages.
Was a great stay!! Probably one of my top places I’ve rented!! The view is gorgeous!! Mr. Ben and Mrs. Rebecca are amazing host!! They gave us great recommendations for places to see and things to do!! The fire pit was used every night to cook and sit around! Their puppy became our pal and we enjoyed getting to pet him and play with him!! One note: the bedrooom does not have black out curtains so if you travel in summer bring eye mask. Overall though we will 1000% rebook if we find ourselves in Seward again!!!
