It was ok
The drive was easy, and the check in was really easy and the lady was great! The property definitely had some down sides. The Hot tub never got warm and seemed cloudy and dirty. The doors to the rooms and bathrooms were not private nor did they lock. The air hockey was very cheap. The shower door downstairs was on wrong and made it hard to close. The queen bed was uncomfortable. The living room is a very limited seating area.. it’s definitely not 15 min from Gatlinburg like the listing had said. Just not as comfy as we wanted it to be. But the kids had a blast and we did enjoy our stay.
This lake house is beautiful. The most amazing thing were the evening sunsets. Just takes your breath away.

This house has a lot of BUGS! We swept several times and bugs were everywhere. The shower had a dirty wash cloth in it, floors were not swept and the water nor ice machine works on the fridge. This has potential but we would never stay again. We left our vacation early from all the bugs. I immediately called the office and told them I had to clean the place before we slept. The customer service was amazing but did not do much for our discomfort of the nasty place and it was not cheap.
There was a pile of dirt leftover from where the housekeeper must have forgotten to sweep it up but we arrived past the two hour window the give to call with any complaints. Otherwise the cabin was clean. The check in process was more than I’ve ever had to do for any other rental. There is an online form you have to compete for check in ask for a picture of the credit card you use even though it’s already paid for through the internet, and they needed the make model and license plate of the car we were driving.
Honest feedback on the positive side, the view of the lake was beautiful, the king bed was very comfortable, the hot tub was great, and the setting is wonderfully peaceful. There are a few things I’d recommend having your cleaners and maintenance team address: several of the light fixtures have dead bugs in the glass, there are also dead bugs in the kitchen cabinets, and one of the cookie sheets still has sticky food residue on it. I also noticed the dishwasher, cabinet faces, and drawer tops could use a good wipe-down as there are some food splatters. Additionally, you might consider providing coffee for guests—it’s a small touch that makes a big difference. I hope this feedback is helpful, and I appreciate the opportunity to share my experience.
Million dollar view only to be sorely disappointed with the amount of living and dead bugs and insects in the home. Floors were covered with crawling insects and dead bugs littered the floors and windows throughout the entire house. We would not stay in this house again. View of lake is gorgeous but this house is hard to locate and the road is curvy and dangerous to navigate.
The home was in a great location above the beautiful lake. No lake access but we didn’t need that. As soon as we walked in we could see it was not vacuumed and the floors were not mopped in a very long time. We missed our 2 hour window to report it so they would not send a crew back out to clean it. We ended up buying a Swiffer and cleaning fluid to do it ourselves. They did give us an inconvenience refund that only paid for the Swiffer. The hot tub was also unusable due to how dirty and cloudy the water was.
I would give 5 stars because overall we had a great experience and stay but there were a few things that i would like to point out and for that I guve only 4. Beautiful home and area but we were disappointed that we didnt have the lake view that was in the pictures. I was looking forward to seeing the water but instead we saw a dry lake bed. It would be helpful to make note of this in your listing that the lake is drained in the winter. On the drive in be prepared for curvy and steep drops and climbs in the road on Red Bud especially at night. You will definitely want to drive slow.I would advise the owners put up a fence on both side of the home where the steep drop off is. We had 5 children with us and the thought of one of them getting too close and falling was very concerning. Even so for the adults as well. Last, there was only one garbage can outside without a lid. I would recommend there be another larger trashcan with lid or an enclosed area for garbage. The departure instructions are to put all garbage in can outside and if it doesnt fit to bring to rental office. This is very inconvenient if you're not planning on going in that direction. Overall, I would recommend this home. But these few changes or notes for guests would be helpful.
The property is located on hilltop with open view to Lake Douglas. The scenery view from the balconies is stunning. Upon arrival to the property there’s a gate that stops others from wondering around and bother you.The whole house is seems like is a 4 floor new construction with AC for each floor. It also has nice four persons hot tub. It has two bedrooms for adults, one bunk bed, one queen bed at loft area, and sofas. Rooms are extremely clean and beds are comfortable, with freshly washed sheets. Kitchen is well equipped but no condiments. Coffee maker barely ever works, and floors were super dusty upon arrival. Also a lot of construction tools were left, possibly by contractors. Another safety concern would be the lock of fence by the house that would prevent little children from falling into the 100 feet ditch. Grill is stationary, not very convenient and small.Parking is large enough to park comfortably 3 pick up trucks. Overall the house is beautiful and I’m definitely would consider to stay again. The only cons is the paperwork that you have to go through before, even when you pay in full. Constant emails from the association office and calls reminds me home purchase closing.
