Lombok’s Senggigi region is crowned by Senggigi Beach, a long, crescent-shaped stretch of white sandy beach lined with coconut palms and forest. The waters of Senggigi Beach are usually calm and pleasant, making the beach a great destination for families and underwater adventurers. The beach features a range of resorts and restaurants for sitting back and enjoying a special sunset view. The Senggigi region offers plenty to explore, including seaside temples, charming villages, wild forest and waterfalls.
The town by Senggigi Beach is Lombok’s major tourism hub and its main road runs parallel to the waterfront. Grab your snorkel and flippers and explore the underwater world and beautiful coral at Senggigi Reef. Rent a sea kayak and drop a fishing line while you float in the calm waters. When the breeze picks up, hit the surf. Kayaks, snorkelling equipment and surfboards can be hired from vendors dotted along the beach.
Join a scenic boat trip along Senggigi Beach or to the Gili Islands with a local boat tour operator. Simply relax under the warm sun or enjoy a massage from one of the local therapists giving luxury beauty and wellness treatments on the beach.
Wander south along the beach to the peninsula. A leisurely waterfront path leads to Pura Batu Bolong, a stunning Hindu temple that sits high on the headland looking out to sea. Explore the Art Market, a local marketplace filled with handicrafts, souvenirs and clothing items, located between the Sheraton Resort and Santosa Villas and Resort.
Senggigi Beach has some of the most stunning views on the island. Pick a spot on the beach among other onlookers and watch the sun set behind the dramatic silhouette of Bali’s Gunung Agung volcano.
Senggigi Beach is approximately a 20-minute drive north from Mataram, the capital of Lombok. Reach Senggigi with a taxi or a shared bemo, the island’s open-top minibuses. Scooters and bicycles are also available for hire with many hotels.
