"Paradise in chaos, close to shopping and the beach"
Blue karma is a beautiful boutique resort in semimyak, the staff are super friendly, the accommodation is very nice for a reasonable price! This was my 2nd time visiting and would definitely keep coming back. Plenty of choices for restaurants nearby, the beach is about 10-15min walk but they run a free shuttle to the beach!
We stayed here whilst stranded in Bali during the volcano eruption. Beautiful breezy large reception area and typical Balinese lovely helpful staff. The Shell room was very spacious with jacuzzi bath and great shower head in shower. Nice bathroom products but no conditioner. The buffet breakfast was pretty good and after 10.30am if you missed out on the buffet, an a la carte breakfast menu was available all day. The rooftop infinity pool was fabulous with views to the mountains . The 2pm checkout is a bonus and as we had a late flight out we were able to use the pool and towels and showers until we left. The TS Suites are modern industrial design (my husband's definition) and I loved it.
We stayed at the Haven for 8 days, and it was a clean, friendly, nice grounds and generally tidy place to stay. The breakfast was varied and catered for all tastes, including the western eggs and bacon if desired, the pool area was kept clean even though it was overlooked by most of the rooms in the complex, (which meant that any sound travelled easily up into the rooms...) We walked to the beach on most days by following Jalan Arjuna (double 6 road) which is where loads of cafe's and restaurants are located and beach sellers with cold beers and plastic chairs congregate daily, (great for afternoon sunset drinks..) there are also plenty of markets on this road so buying a hat, sunglasses, or singlet on your way is an easy task. There are several mini marts close to the Haven, so getting cheap supplies (water, beer, razors, sunscreen etc) is simple. We bought a large bottle of water as the hotel only provides 2 small bottler per day, barely enough for a morning cuppa! but all in all we found it more than acceptable as a comfortable location with secure premises.
The hotel was half empty but we were put into a ground floor room next to a very noisy restaurant. We told the reception staff that we weren't happy and they acted very quickly and in a friendly and helpful way to transfer us to a new room on the second floor with a balcony overlooking the pool. The pool is a bit small and can't get any sun as it's surrounded by the hotel, but overall we enjoyed our stay.
