Great breakfast! Very pretty scenery, quiet, peaceful. The building is older. Wrong address was posted on hotels.com. It has been fixed after we called and had to drive 30min to the correct location
Be aware that this is not IN Selfoss; it is about 25 minutes outside the town. It is nearly impossible to see the unmarked driveway. The facility is fine if you don't mind self check-in. Luckily for us the owner/manager was there so we got to enjoy the bar and a human connection. Breakfast was good with plenty of food choices. Unfortunately our room had only one of the two small lights over the bed that worked; however the working light, and the overhead, were so dim as to be mostly useless, and impossible to read by. The overhead in the bathroom didn't work either. The sheets and the pillows smelled musty or moldy - I understand that the weather in Iceland is difficult but I have stayed in the country many times and never had problems with hotel linens before. On the other hand, the hot tub and the sauna were excellent and a good place to be outside of the room.
This was a great place to stay, although a little bit out of the way, still within striking distance of Selfoss. Being out in the sticks a bit I believed helped in our viewing of the northern lights while we were there - that was awesome.
Bed was really comfy and the room well equipped. The shower was interesting since there was no door or curtain on one side so challenging to keep the water from going everywhere!!
Hot tub was really nice - very relaxing - and the shared “kitchen/bar” area worked well - we did not have their breakfast but were abl to make coffee for ourselves.
Did not try the sauna but other guests were in and out of it so I assume was good.
After checking in, we did not see any staff again so difficult to say whether they were good or not, although good efficient check in process.
We enjoyed staying there.
Decent breakfast, very friendly staff, comfortable bed, but tiny tiny shower.

The hotel was once a farm and it is located in a picturesque area. Very relaxing. No TV in the rooms. Wonderful meals cooked for us and a lot of support fro my gluten-free vegan wife.
The rooms are rather Spartan as is most of Iceland.
It is a bit pricey.
We were there fir 3 days and it was comforting to come home each day to a quite peaceful place
It is best to tour the Golden Circle on the first day and to handle the tour schedule, such as the Spogas on the next day. Personally, I think it's better than staying at the Selfos.
I didn't see the weather very well, but it's quiet and dark around, so if you help me with the weather, I think I can see an aurora at home.
The owner was kind and could eat a very delicious breakfast.
There is also a jacuzzi that you can use.
The room was very clean, clean, and warm.
Recommend.
