You do need to check into the actual hotel (which this is not, this is the villas), which is like 5-10 mins away by car, and I'll say this now that the hotel does have a restaurant. It was nice that when requested, they quickly delivered an iron and ironing board since it wasn't already inside our villa. The whole property was really clean and well maintained. "The suite is right on the waterfront in the Old Port area. Perfect location for access to the shops and restaurants. The area is very active with nightlife — nevertheless, the suite was very quiet. The suite was comfortable and attractive. Highly recommended."

Only issue is parking because old town Chania is not accessible by car, so you have to find parking about a 1/2 mile away and walk. Still worth it, just be prepared for the parking spot hunt.
