Looking for a peaceful retreat in stunning Sedona / Oak Creek Canyon? We have the perfect cabin home for you - Bear Howard Cabin! We are located in the highly desirable Pine Flats neighborhood, off of historic and scenic Route 89A (one of the most beautiful drives in Arizona).

This lovely three bedroom, two bath cabin has all the charm of a dreamy and magical Sedona/Red Rock vacation get-a-way! Hike in the mornings, shop in the afternoons and relax and dine in the evenings! Your choices are nearly unlimited. We are the perfect cabin to begin all of your Red Rock adventures.

The cabin is located in a small housing development surrounded by a lush, cool, green conifer forest and oak trees, right off of Oak Creek itself. We are halfway between Flagstaff and Sedona - just a short drive north, and you’re in Flagstaff, and nearly the same driving distance south and you’re in Sedona proper.

We are also located near the famous West Fork Trail, one of the most scenic and popular hikes in the area! We are also not too far from Slide Rock State Park, a regional favorite for cooling off in the Summer and one of the most stunning natural settings around.

A short, casual walk down the drive brings you to our private Oak Creek access for fishing, swimming, wading and other types of creek discoveries!

This cabin is a perfect getaway spot and offers a recently renovated and fully stocked kitchen - all new appliances, cabinets and cookware - for those days and nights when you want to enjoy a quiet meal at home. There is also a propane grill on the upper deck, and a variety of outdoor furniture for relaxing.

We have a spacious, welcoming living area downstairs, with a wood stove that provides warmth in the colder months and added Sedona ambience (central heating and air conditioning for your seasonal comfort available as well). The dining area seats eight comfortably and is the perfect spot to enjoy a meal with your family, a friendly game of cards, a spot to do a jigsaw puzzle, or even sneak in a few work emails, if absolutely necessary. We offer limited Internet at our cabin (not always an easy feat to accomplish in the Canyon) for those times when you are not outside enjoying all Sedona has to offer.

We have three comfortable bedrooms: two with queen-sized beds downstairs, and a large, private master bedroom on the second floor with king bed and a cozy, private sitting area.

There is another gathering spot on the second floor loft area with comfy couches, a large TV, and a selection of DVDs for family entertainment. You'll also find board games and puzzles for more family fun.

There are two large decks surrounding the home for enjoying a peaceful afternoon reading and observing forest life.

Cabin in the Canyon

Spent 2 nights in Sedona to kick off Spring Break. Cabin was perfect! Updated kitchen, wood burning stove heats up house fast, great water pressure in showers, comfy beds, big movie and game selection. The cabin felt remote but only 10 min away from Slide Rock and not far from Uptown Sedona.

Nice hideaway cabin

We enjoyed our stay in the cabin. The surrounding of the cabin was very quiet and peaceful. The cabin has all the things we needed during our stay. The available board games were a nice touch for the family to spend time together.

Lovely Hideaway

The Bear Howard Cabin was a perfectly cozy, clean, and very well-stocked hideaway for my family of 6. Just a 20 minute ride from downtown Sedona, we were able to enjoy hikes in the red rocks daily while returning to a super quiet, peaceful, and comfortable home in the evenings. The woodfire stove was perfect for the unexpected snow days during our stay, and the kitchen was well-equipped for cooking any type of meal. We appreciated the board and card games provided, the spaciousness of both the lofted lounge area and main level living room, and the old-school dvd collection. Would recommend for friend groups or families!

Beautiful Cabin in the woods

Beautiful cabin in the pines on Oak Creek. This cabin was a perfect weekend getaway spot for me and my family. Very quiet and cozy neighborhood. The cabin was very comfortable with all the amenities of home. Wonderful front porch! The location was fantastic 5 miles north of Slide Rock and 30 min from Flagstaff. We would love to stay here again in the future.

Wedding Get Away

The house/cabin is in a nice quite mountainous community.We arrived on Saturday afternoon and were busy with a wedding all of Sunday. Our family checked out early on Monday as we had a long distances to travel back to our homes. Some went to CA and the others to ID. We enjoyed our short time there and would have loved to have stayed longer. It's a short, beautiful drive from the house to Sedona and would have really liked to spend some time there. Maybe that will have to be another trip!

Nestled

Bear Howard Cabin is nestled in Oak Creek Canyon in a quiet, small neighborhood. Oak Creek is a short walk away for fishing. Almost a dozen trout were visible from the access road. Road traffic was congested on the highway due to the narrow, two lane, curvy road. We built in extra time for driving anywhere, but the scenery was spectacular so it was worth it.

Beautiful Oak Creek Canyon

We loved the house! It’s in beautiful Oak Creek Canyon. I love the loft ceiling. Kitchen looks new. Three bedrooms was perfect for my husband and I, our 21 year old son and 18 year old daughter. Loft with tv was great at night after hiking all day. Our bed was really comfortable. Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon are so gorgeous! We would rent this house again. Would be nice in the fall so we can use the fireplace.

Quiet Location

My husband and I thought that the king sized bed upstairs was comfortable, it looked like it was a memory foam. We greatly enjoyed having the wood burning stove and kitchen in the heart of the home. We both liked that the tv was upstairs because we preferred watching the fire burn in the stove while talking in the evenings. The turn off for the house in the canyon is difficult in the dark as other guests have mentioned but our gps was spot on so we only drove past it once. We have Verizon and did not experience connection issues. The host did not communicate days in advance like some others that we have had but we did receive check in information before our arrival and contact during our stay

This is the Best Place Ever!

We absolutely love Pine Flats and Bear Howard Cabin made our stay extra special and memorable. This cabin was epic. It had three levels of porches/balconies. Wonderful Adirondack chairs. We spent hours talking on the porch and watching rainstorms and thunderstorms was a highlight. We had an absolute blast. The cabin is nestled in the most gorgeous trees in every direction. We felt like we were staying in a tree house. The cabin is massive with so much room and the hosts have done an incredible job making it super cozy. It looks like they put in new windows that were so easy to open and close, screens all in tact. They also had privacy blinds on every window which was very appreciated. The beds were super comfortable. The washer and dryer were state of the art and super quiet. We loved watching movies upstairs, great collection of movies completed by the great sound system. Also, to accompany our outdoor adventures, the water was delicious straight from the sink! We can just go on and on talking about this cabin, we love it so much!! The neighborhood is a dream, so much fun to take walks. We will come back here year after year!! Thank you so much for having us as your guests :)

Pine Flatts Cabin

The stay was great. The Pine Flatts community is a wonderful place to have a relaxing time in the trees by the creek. The 200 ft tall Ponderosa Pines are beautiful.

Our stay at this Sedona cabin was everything we hoped for and more. The location in the canyon was absolutely stunning! peaceful, scenic, and the perfect place to escape the Arizona heat. We took daily hikes right from the property and were constantly in awe of the natural beauty surrounding us.The cabin itself was clean, well-stocked, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We especially loved the patio. It quickly became our favorite spot for family meals, morning coffee, and evenings of unwinding and enjoying the fresh air.If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway with easy access to Sedona's amazing trails and landscapes, this place is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended—we’d definitely stay here again!

Beautiful time at Bear Howard Cabin

We were lucky to stay at Bear Howard cabin for a special family event. The cabin is spacious and thoughtfully appointed and was perfect for our group of five. Beds are very comfortable, the house is well stocked, and the property is clean and organized inside and out. The location is stunning and Oak Creek Canyon is the perfect place for a wonderful and relaxing getaway. We will definitely be back. Thank you Sam and Susan for making our weekend perfect.
