An independent, private villa set on the hillside with stunning sea views, this is a Sicilian idyll, for a perfect holiday.

This attractive contemporary villa, which sleeps 8, is full of light and encourages guests to live indoors and out, with extensive terraces and a raised, shaded pergola, where guests can dine or relax, looking out over the countryside rolling down to the Mediterranean Sea, just 2km away.

The open plan living room has cool tiled floors and large windows, which look out towards the sea. There is a corner sofa and a satellite TV. At the other end of the room, the attractive white dining table and chairs comfortably seat 6 people. Double glass doors, next to the dining table, lead out onto the covered terrace. Through an archway by the table, down a couple of wide steps, is the stylish, new kitchen. The kitchen has everything you might need for stress-free cooking: cooker hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and Moka coffee machine. There is a smaller dining table in the kitchen for casual breakfasts or snacks. The kitchen door leads out onto the back terrace.

A staircase from the pergola takes guests down into the garden and a large terrace with another dining table and 6 chairs, next to a large BBQ. This is next to the private pool, where you can relax on sun loungers or the seats under the tented sun shade.

Sleeping
Bedroom 1: The sunny, contemporary master bedroom, has a large double bed with ample wardrobe storage space and an en suite bathroom
Bedroom 2: This cosy bedroom has a double bed, wardrobe and leads off the hallway next to the shaded terrace area.
Bedroom 3: A smaller bedroom, just across the hallway from the shaded terrace, there are two single beds and a modern wardrobe.
Extra: There are 2 single beds in the open gallery of the living room.

Bathrooms
Bathroom 1: En suite to the master bedroom, this pink, modern bathroom with a glass shower, good storage, basin, bidet and WC.
Bathroom 2: A family bathroom with a shower, basin, bidet and WC.

Extra charges
Check-in times are 4 pm to 8 pm. Arrival after check-in time must be agreed upon. Additional charges for check-in from 8 pm to midnight are €50; after midnight extra charge of €100.
Electricity is included up to consumption of 100 KW/h per week. Beyond this, guests have to pay electricity € 0.45 per kw/h.

Transfers to and from airports with private shuttle service from Catania or Comiso airports to the property are available for requests made at least 15 days in advance. Shuttle capacity of 6 persons + driver, with €100 to and from Comiso airport and € 200 to and from Catania airport.

On-site car rental for drivers over 26 years old with insurance coverage that includes a 5-door Fiat Panda (max 5 pax) in June and September for €25/day and in July and August for € 35/day.

Location
In a quiet part of southern Sicily, close to some beautiful beaches and historical centres, this villa is in an ideal position. Scicli (12 minutes drive) is a fascinating, less visited jewel of a town, packed with Sicilian Baroque architecture.

There are many festivals throughout the year in Scicli, but the two most famous are “Uomo Vivo” (Man Alive) at Easter – a procession which finishes at the beach of Donnalucata and the Madonna Al Cavallo, at the end of May, to celebrate the town’s defeat of the Saracens.
The medieval fishing village of Donnalucata (10 minute drive) is known for its wide beaches and two festivals, the festival of squid and the flavours festival, both encourage visitors the enjoy delicious local delicacies.

If you are inspired by the tasty local cuisine and want to try to recreate it yourself, Scicli’s weekly market takes place on Tuesday in Via Saffi. There is a larger market every Wednesday in the football stadium in Ragusa (35 minute drive). Ragusa is certainly worth a visit. It hosts a prestigious music competition and festival which takes place every July. As well as being home to some of the finest Baroque palaces on the island of Sicily.

Catania’s international airport is a 1 hour 45-minute drive from the villa.
