We require a 3-night minimum on weekends most months of the year, so please inquire prior to booking for a quote.

Downstairs: Enjoy the spacious floor plan with a modern, fully equipped kitchen that is open to the breakfast room with a table that seats 6; expansive double parlor with living room, flat screen TV and DVD player and formal dining room that seats an additional 6. One of the two vintage-styled bathroom with clawfoot tub is located downstairs.

Upstairs: Enjoy the comfort of 4 bedrooms, 1 full bathroom, and a separate dressing/laundry room all upstairs.

When renting this home, you will have 2 reserved spaces directly behind the house for off-street, care-free parking! Additional vehicles can park free on the street.

Sleeping arrangements consist of 4 bedrooms on the 2nd floor (a King, a Queen, a large bedroom with 2 Full Size Beds, and the 'trunk room' with a Full bed). There is a Twin Rollaway bed in the closet downstairs which can be placed in any room. There is one full bathroom upstairs (with original clawfoot tub!) by the dressing/laundry room and one full (near identical) bathroom downstairs by the kitchen.

Need more space? 'The Janie' has two 'sister' homes next door, 'The Clara' (listing #675595) and 'The Stella' (listing #971160). A group of 20, well-behaved guests could book both houses and stay side by side. 'The Janie' has hosted hundreds of guests including family reunions, girl's getaway weekends, bachelorette, wedding parties, Girl Scouts, graduation, SCAD weekends, and more. Please inquire if you have any questions!

We love our guests and want them to have a fabulous time. It is important to note that in Downtown Savannah the homes are very close together and full time residents do live next to the vacation rental homes. In order to respect your neighbors we ask for 'quiet hours' after 10pm. This simply means turn down your music and refrain from shouting, congregating outdoors, etc. Remember when you are on the porches or dropped off by taxi late night you can be heard very well by the surrounding residents. Thank you for your respect and understanding. Drunken, loud, or obnoxious behavior simple will not be tolerated.

Memorable Savannah Weekend

My sorority sisters and I spent our sorority's 44th anniversary in Savannah for the weekend. 8 of us stayed at The Janie, it was perfect for us and we all loved it! It's a beautiful historic home with lovely period furnishings and decor. There was ample space for us to share with 4 bedrooms and the 2 bathrooms worked out for 8 women as well! It was really nice having a fully-equipped kitchen, so we were able to have some quality time at night catching up in the living room with snacks and beverages. Lastly, I enjoyed dealing with Carmen the property manager. Carmen was quick at responding even before I booked the property and made sure that she gave all the info we needed for our stay. We needed help with the living room light and Carmen was over quickly. Carmen, thanks so much for hosting us at your wonderful property. We were able to make lovely memories during at stay at The Janie. I highly recommend this place for a Savannah holiday.

Just ok

The house was clean and well stocked. The neighborhood did not feel safe to is. While we were only there for one night, there was one altercation outside around 1230 am and another at around 8am. Both required police and an ambulance. I would not chose to stay in that area of the city again. There was a lot of traffic noise and the neighborhood just seemed overall very, very run down. The owners were over communicating, and even asked for each individual’s first and last name that was staying at the property. They claimed that the “city liked to know who was staying there.” That was a very odd request and raised my suspicion. So, overall, clean place, but I would not recommend it.

The home and related communications were great. This is such a large and beautifully decorated house! The king bed was very comfortable with nice linens. There were plenty of extra towels and various other extra supplies as well. And we really appreciated the photos to help us ensure we were at the right place, including the designated parking. All was just as we would wish for it to be and we had a very nice stay. A couple of notes for those not familiar with Savannah: 1) It's Savannah, so there are stairs. Don't be surprised by this. 2) There is often traffic noise at night when staying in this part of the city. The owners helpfully have provided white noise machines in each bedroom. Word to the wise: bring noise blocking earbuds or old-fashioned ear plugs and/or choose the bedroom away from the street. Enjoy your stay!

Girl Scout trip to Savannah

The property was very clean, and beautifully decorated. It had all the amenities that you would expect in a high-end VRBO. The furniture was incredibly comfortable. All nine of us had a great time staying here. The house was very friendly, and kept in great communication with us every step of the way.

Southern Retreat

Beautiful and charming Victorian style four bedrooms upstairs; downstair has a elegant parlor room and dining room which provided perfect meeting spaces. Old fashion tup was an added surprise. The only drawback was early morning traffic noise from the street, but it was expected as we knew the location of the property. We'll take this charming home again for our next visit to Savannah.

Perfect Home and Hosts!!

Wow! What a great stay. My wife and I booked four nights and truly loved the home. Great location - designated parking at the house and was located such that it allowed us to walk all around Historic Savanah. It's about a 5 minute walk to Forsyth park and only 30 minutes all the way to the river. The home is beautiful and well equipped. And........the Hosts were outstanding! Friendly and caring regarding our comfort and needs. Can't say enough good things about them!!! My next trip to Savannah? I'll be right back to this property and these hosts!! What a great experience and it truly made our trip fantastic!

Fabulous House!

Our stay at the Janie was amazing. Carmen and Joe were excellent hosts and gave us advise for things to do around the city and our check in and out process couldn't have been any easier. The location was perfect. Just a few short blocks from Forsythe Park. There were 4 women so having 4 separate bedrooms was great. The Victorian house itself is really beautiful but it is also furnished very beautifully and very comfortably. Everyone in our group thought the mattresses were very comfortable and linens great. Everything you could ask for was provided. The kitchen and baths were well supplied. If I had to give one or two things that weren't the best, one would be the traffic noise coming from loud cars, cars playing music very loudly and motorcycles. It was a little difficult to sleep in, especially in the front bedrooms facing the road but not a deal breaker by any means. Secondly, it rained in the middle of the night and there must be a broken rain gutter on the side of the house because the sound of rain drops hitting hollow metal sounded like someone hitting a cowbell all night. We laughed at this because 2 of us said it was a cowbell but it was loud and affected the 3 sleepers along the side of the house. Savannah is such a beautiful and walkable city. Definitely go to the farmers market Saturday mornings at Forsythe Park. We used Uber or Lyft rides in the evenings. I would stay at the Janie again!

Sisters trip

The host is so nice to work with. One of our sisters was celebrating a birthday and Carmen left her several birthday wishes and some great cookies. The house is beautiful.

Jon and Carmen were amazing! We had to change our date by one day due to unexpected weather (hurricane) and they worked with us, stayed in close contact, and made communication so easy. Carmen was so understanding and kind through the whole process. The property was beautiful and in an ideal location. I 100% recommend going with one of their properties. You will not regret it!! I can’t wait to have the pleasure of staying in one of their properties again. !

Five of the Golden Ladies friends got together for a trip to Savannah. We had more than enough space to sit around and chit chat. The house was large, clean. The bedrooms was nice and the beds slept good. Close to tours and restaurants.

The Janie is wonderful

Our family of 6 adults and 2 babies spent 4 nights here. Absolutely everything about the Janie is terrific. The location is convenient to lots of Savannah highlights. The house is huge and beautifully decorated and the owners are very friendly and welcoming.

Sorority Anniversary Reunion

We enjoyed our stay at The Janie from Friday to Monday. My sorority sisters and I liked the vintage look and feel of the house. They complimented me (2024 Hostess) several times on the choice of the property. The peaceful backyard patio was put to good use for relaxing. The weather was perfect in Savannah the whole time.The owner was nice and accommodating. What a blessed time!

Exactly What We Were Looking For

This property was exactly what we were looking for with three families staying together. The hosts did a wonderful job. Property was clean and well stocked and had a perfect southern charm feel. It was a great location and was close to walk to parks, restaurants and shops.

Sisters Trip

The Janie was absolutely stunning! From the beautifully curated decor, to the absolute cleanliness of the house, it was the perfect stay. We had everything we needed ... plentiful towels, a refrigerator with an ICE MAKER, large beds and bedrooms, multiple TVs, and a fully equipped coffee maker. The courtyard was the perfect area to have our morning coffee (or mimosa) and our evening cocktails. We felt very safe with the tall privacy fence. Additionally, the location was perfect. We were walking distance to Forsyth Park, but far enough away from the busy riverfront to avoid loud tourist traffic. Carmen the owner was wonderfully communicative and helpful; she made the check in and out process easy and seamless. I even had the pleasure of a chance meeting with her, and she was completely charming! 10/10 and I would definitely rebook The Janie if we visit Savannah again.

Savannah Birthday

Absolutely PERFECT! my family and I traveled here for a mini family gathering to celebrate my birthday. The VRBO was clean, beautiful, and all house accommodations was as expected or better. Easy to check in, nice welcome touches (water birthday sign, fresh flowers, local map, etc..), clean, updated yet so much character, comfy beds, location was easy to get all around Savannah...perfect for our family of 10!

Family of Six Loved it!

From the very start, our wonderful Host Miss Carmen was so great at communicating with me and giving me her full attention, while sharing the history of the home, which made it so exciting for all of us! This trip was special, I chaperoned my 4 Aunts and 1 uncle, ages ranging from 66 to 84 years of age who made the trip to Florida from Arizona, and I drove them all down to Beautiful Savannah! When we arrived we were so highly impressed and felt like we all walked back into time! The only thing that was a little disappointing was the front steps to a very busy street, so not much time spent on the front porch....BUT the backyard relaxing patio made up for it!! It was very private and I LOVED the fact that I had my own parking spot, two to be exact, but we only needed 1! So close to the main downtown area, only took about 5 minutes to drive to the main strip of Savannah, so not inconvenient at all, also really felt the price was fair for the stay. The stairs up to the bedroom are very very sturdy for I was a bit worried about my aunts who need assistance walking and such, but they did just fine with help and we enjoyed our beautiful bedrooms upstairs and all of us slept so comfortably! No complaints!! Loved our stay, thank you Carmen for all the love! Hope to come back and stay again in the future, God willing.
