The chic historic townhouse sits on charming Chatham Square, one block from Forsyth Park. The area contains some of the city’s best row houses. This prestigious area is a short walk to the numerous museums, historic sites, restaurants, and shops.

Recently renovated with a designers eye toward style, the parlor level suite of this 1854 townhouse overlooks Chatham Square. Living room features & smart TV, Wi-Fi and comfy seating. The dining room seats four and the kitchen features stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops & is outfitted with anything you need to whip up a meal or heat up take-out.

The sunny master bedroom has a queen bed, smart TV. The en suite bathroom is newly renovated too with a tiled, walk-in shower. The suite has a private back porch and the below courtyard (shared with other guests in building).

HISTORIC GORDON ROW: Gordon Row was built in two phases between 1852 and 1854. In the first phase, the 3 or 4 houses on each end of the block were built and in the second phase the middle portion was built. There are a total of 15 houses in the row. The houses were built in the Federalist (US) or Regency Style (UK). Each house is four stories high and contains about 3,300 square feet. The Federalist Style emphasizes square, classical features, plain decorations and mirror image rooms.

Construction was interrupted by the American Civil War, and finally completed around 1868 by the new owner, John Wilder. Before Hansford's death, as retold in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, the house had already been the scene of two deaths. In 1913, a previous owner tripped over the second floor banister, fractured his hip, and suffered a concussion, dying three days later. In 1964, a boy chasing pigeons on the roof fell over the edge and impaled himself on the iron fence below.

Couples Vacation in Savannah

My fiancé and I had a wonderful long weekend at this property. The location in historic downtown was beautiful and fairly quiet, and was only a short walk away from all the shops and restaurants that Savannah has to offer. The property itself was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and our host responded to all of our questions within 30 minutes of asking. Would highly recommend this for any couple seeking a romantic trip.

One of the very best places we've stayed. Beautiful, quiet, very clean, well-equipped. Location was great -- we walked everywhere. The property was even better than it appeared online. Plenty of street parking.

Perfect stay

The house was beautiful we didn’t want to leave! Came up from Florida for a wedding. Didn’t get to explore the city as much as we would have liked but the beautiful accommodations made it all worth it. & it’s a great location, walked almost everywhere. It was the perfect paradise I was hoping for

Perfect quiet getaway

Perfect location for a historic Savannah trip. My husband and I came for our anniversary and were able to walk almost everywhere we wanted to go. Quiet, beautiful neighborhood with one of Savannah’s gorgeous squares right across the street. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed. Checkin was a breeze. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

We made a last minute decision to stay here, and we are so glad we did! The apartment was comfortable and the location was perfect - very walkable to many places, such as Forsyth Park. Quiet little balcony off the bedroom where we could unwind after a long day of site seeing. Bathroom is a little cramped for space, but other than that it is great. Highly recommend!

Absolutely perfect in every way!

Beautiful location next to Chatham Square, near Forsyth Park. We walked everywhere. Lots of great local shops, bars, restaurants and live music. Loved that our unit was quiet and off the beaten path. It was stocked with all basic necessities upon arrival. Very clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

A Comfortable Stay with a Beautiful View

This property is perfect for those seeking the quieter side of the historic district. The living room overlooks a charming square. The southside location avoids the hustle and noise of Bay, Broughton and River streets. All attractions and historic district destinations are walkable. Street parking was very manageable - we never had a problem finding a close spot.

We were extremely glad we stayed at your property…easy to use as base for exploring…we would recommend it highly to anyone traveling to Savannah. It is a quiet neighborhood and easy to walk to attractions and tour bus routes which we found VERY interesting. The only downside was getting a handle on the parking …got a ticket first night.

Perfect is an understatement!

This property was exactly as described and absolutely perfect. Loved location across from Chatham Square. I was worried a bit about parking as there is no assigned space, but we had zero difficulty finding a spot in front of property every time. Don’t let that be a deterrent. Forsyth Park is literally around the corner - loved my morning walks there. Without a doubt we will stay here again.

If you’re thinking of coming to Savannah you must give this a look. Beautiful 1850’s townhouse in the historic district very tastefully decorated and well appointed everything you need is in the kitchen and a beautiful bedroom with an outdoor courtyard. I highly recommend 👍

Lovely Savanna

This property was amazing. The history, location, and architecture was top notch. Coming from AZ, the air conditioning was critical and worked perfectly. I arrived and didn’t drive my car for 5 days. Walked everywhere. The ice machine and Brita cold filtered water were all life saving and a great touch. Thank you! John Bowen

Savannah historical district

Very cool to stay in an 1850’s ppty on our first visit to Savannah. Ppty was clean and neat. Everything we needed for a four night stay. Appreciate the book with details, recommendations, and instructions. Two small suggestions for improvement. 1: more shelf or counter space in bathroom and 2: television instructions need to be updated as cable is no longer provided.

Thanksgiving week in Savannah

The check-in/out process was seamless. We really appreciated the key pads to enter and exit vs carrying keys. The rooms were spacious, appeared newly decorated, nice bathroom, full kitchen, generous sized bedroom and comfortable queen size bed leading to a patio and chairs through the bedroom French doors. Given the fact we rented the unit for 7-days I was surprised to not hear back the day after check-in from Mgmt office regarding request for more appropriate light bulbs for the bedroom. Overall it was a great one bedroom unit in a very good location and will strongly consider renting again.

Home Away from Home

This was the PERFECT stay in historic downtown Savannah! The home was beautiful and comfortable and conveniently located within walking distance of everything we wanted/needed to do. The beautiful view of Chatham Square out the front door/windows was such a wonderful surprise when we arrived. The weather was perfect which made for a lovely walk through Forysth Park for lunch at Collins Quarters and then on to Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) activities.The city was easy to naviagate on foot and we did not need a car. We loved the old home which has been completely updated with all of the modern conveniences and furninshings. It was so cozy! The area felt safe and the building had double security with an outside door and suite door, both with locked keypads. We will 100% be returning because this was a true find! This was far superior to staying in a hotel as we got a real sense of what it's like to live in historic downtown Savannah. Loved it!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were in Savannah for a wedding in a Tybee Island. We are happy we stayed in Savannah. So beautiful. The Suite was pretty, clean and well kept. The only thing that was not kept well was the outdoor area. There were a lot debris on porch, steps, sidewalk and courtyard. It was there for 2 days before it was blown off. It was the only property on the street that was that way. With the front steps with debris, we were afraid of slipping and falling.Some light bulbs were burned out. The container for laundry detergent was empty.
