Historic 2 Story Home w/ Balcony, Parking on Calhoun Square by Lucky Savannah

Built in 1856, this stately historic home has been fully restored and renovated to have all the modern conveniences with the charm of original heart-pine floors and brick fireplaces (decorative only now). Located just north of Forsyth Park, Savannah’s largest green space, Cotton Manor has everything you’ll need for a truly luxurious stay in the Hostess City.

Large windows throughout the home let in an abundance of natural light with plantation shutters for privacy. The open dining and living space has plenty of comfortable seating, so you can relax after a day of sightseeing or plan your next adventure. The galley-style kitchen has stainless steel appliances, including a double oven. The first floor of the home includes a full bath and half bath.

Two bedrooms are upstairs, along with two full bathrooms. The primary bedroom has a King sized bed with beautiful solid wood frame, floor-to-ceiling windows that open to the balcony, and an ensuite bath. The windows are a lingering architectural detail from a time when Savannahians were taxed by how many doors their home had. The second bedroom has comfortable a Queen-sized sleigh bed to curl up in after a long day of exploring Savannah. The second bathroom sits just outside the door in the hallway. The third bedroom can be found just off of the living room, that features a comfortable murphy bed, and access to the front courtyard.

This home is perfect for those who want to explore the city by foot. A short walk north through Calhoun Square will take you to Clary’s Cafe, the setting for several breakfast scenes in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. No matter which direction you choose, you’ll be in the heart of all Savannah has to offer.

  • Designed by John S. Norris for General Hugh Weedon Mercer, construction of the house began in 1860. Construction was interrupted by the American Civil War, and finally completed around 1868 by the new owner, John Wilder. Great location! We could walk to Forsyth Park, and many other spots. We enjoyed all the rooftop bars on River Street, but we did Uber to those. The construction next-door did get us up at 7 AM, but they ended early and we were able to enjoy the patio each evening. It’s lovely

Double milestone birthday gathering

This house was perfect for the group of 5 adults and exceeded our expectations of spaces to enjoy and the location in town. Very comfortable rooms to hang out in as well as outdoor patio seating. A perfect spot and we will consider using again in the future!

Perfect get away

Short stay with friends from college. The house was perfect. Walking distance to downtown area and Forsyth park. Lovely sitting area outside where we were able to hang and catch up with one another. Property manager was wonderful, and two parking spots made it a hassle free trip. Would definitely recommend this lovely home.

Great location for our group

The check in process was easy. The home was very comfortable and clean. Kitchen was well stocked. Fun to be able to walk to a grocery store or walk around the squares or down to the river. Everywhere we wanted to go seemed accessible by foot. Savannah is beautiful and we loved our stay at Cotton Manor.

Fantastic location!!! Lovely courtyard & just right combination of historical home with modern conveniences. Only negative was annoying construction noises surrounding the house- early mornings and late afternoons on courtyard.

Amazing neighborhood

Close to Forsyth Park and in the middle of a architecturally gorgeous neighborhood. Loved the courtyard and the property’s other amenities. For those who like to walk, not much of anything is too far away. Plus, who wouldn’t want to walk in one of the most beautiful cities in the U.S.?

Perfect place for a Savannah weekend

This is the perfect little house in every way. You can walk to anything you want to do I’m downtown Savannah, have drinks or coffee on the sweet courtyard and there’s enough space for everybody to take some time away from each other when needed. Ok too if that the management company responded immediately even though it was a weekend. We will definitely make this our go to place in Savannah💕

Beautiful property

Great area in walking distance to all the sights, beautiful outdoor area to relax, the only problem we had was during the week it was not quiet or relaxing due to construction next door ( understand that it won’t go on forever but for the price we paid that was my gripe). But overall this historic home was gorgeous!

Dream stay in Savannah

Perfect location. Central to shops and squares. My family traveled from all areas of US to gather for 2 birthdays. Staying in one beautiful house with a nice courtyard instead of multiple hotel rooms was a great call. We were able to spend time together in one place. The property management was equally impressive. Kept in touch and made the process very user friendly. We will be back!

Amazing Weekend

My daughter atended SCAD several years ago. When she was there my husband and I visited often. We fell in love with beautiful Savannah.The house was perfect for a long weekend. The patio was perfect for morning coffee and walks to Forsyth Park and shops. We were able to have a front rowfor the beautiful Veterans Day Parade. My father-in-law was a paratrooper in WWII. The parade was important to us to honor him. We will definitely return.

Cotton Manor

Cotton Manor was amazing!!! we loved being able to relax in the outdoor courtyard. The location was right in the heart of the south historic district, very quiet, within walking distance to restaurants and historic sites. My only criticism is to get the pull out couch fixed..... it could not be used so I slept on top of the couch. I would definitely recommend this booking and I would stay here again....100%

The property says 3 bedrooms. The study has a Murphy bed which may need tweaking it kep popping up everytime my daughter and husband turned. Other than that great location beautiful home would rent again. The shower in master was not working but offered us early check in, but we had lunch and by the time got to the house it was closer to 4pm. Lucky Savannah has good communication to their customers. Great service.
