Courtyard on Gaston w/ Private Living Area & Murphy Bed by Lucky Savannah

This spacious first floor apartment is located on historic Gaston Street, and features detailed millwork and hardwood floors. With two bedrooms and two full baths, up to 6 Lucky guests will be comfortably accommodated during their stay.

Guests will enter through the private courtyard into the sunroom, where you’ll find comfortable seating, a TV, and window seat. The sunroom doubles as a third bedroom, and when closed off from the rest of the home it has an en suite bath. The recently renovated kitchen has stainless steel appliances and every gadget you’d need to create a gourmet meal to enjoy in the adjacent dining room.

Both bedrooms have Queen sized beds, plenty of room to unpack, and large windows that filter in the beautiful Savannah sunlight. A formal living room provides space to get some work done, or just curl up on the couch with a good book.

For breakfast, we suggest taking a short walk to Clary’s Cafe, a local favorite and the setting for several scenes in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Just blocks from Forsyth Park, Savannah’s largest park, you’ll be well situated to attend several yearly music and food festivals as well as our weekly Saturday farmer's market.

  • Designed by John S. Norris for General Hugh Weedon Mercer, construction of the house began in 1860. Construction was interrupted by the American Civil War, and finally completed around 1868 by the new owner, John Wilder. Before Hansford's death, as retold in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, the house had already been the scene of two deaths. In 1913, a previous owner tripped over the second floor banister, fractured his hip, and suffered a concussion, dying three days later. Savannah - Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The location of this place is so close to all attractions and even though parking is located on street it was available very easily right in front of the house The only thing that was not working was the washer . But was not a big inconvenience for us

Perfect in every way

We could not have found a better property or location than this beautiful home. Check-in was a breeze, everything was spotless and in working order, and the location was close enough to the action without being in the middle of it. Comfortable apartment in an excellent location

We enjoyed everything about our stay in this apartment.It was clean, well-appointed, and comfortable. There were four of us and having two indoor seating areas and two outdoor seating areas was very convenient.The location is excellent. It is in the gorgeous historic district and an easy walk to many restaurants. But as it is far enough away from the busier areas, it is also very quiet. We were there during the St. Patrick’s Day festivities and had no trouble finding free street parking on the adjacent street for our two vehicles.Communication with the host was excellent.

Savannah vacation

The property was perfect for us. Close to everything. Really enjoyed walking to the park every day. My only suggestion would be to clean the porch area. The weather was wonderful. We would have enjoyed sitting outside on the porch. Otherwise our stay was wonderful.

Large comfortable house

We had a girls weekend in Savannah and our place that we stayed on. Gaston Avenue was perfect because there were enough beds because everything was clean. It was beautifully appointed. And the communal spaces made long discussions possible. Not to mention it’s beautiful placement in relationship to Forsyth Park.

Great Location

We are not usually walkers, but managed to walk to most locations we went. The walks were beautiful; although most of the flowers had already bloomed. The house was perfect with a little bit of "old" along with some new. We would definitely recommend it to anyone.

It was my daughter’s wedding weekend. The house on Gaston was lovely. In pristine condition. All the Checkin communications and details leading up to our stay were very professional and the management staff was very helpful. It was a great time and are looking to set up another trip next year.

Great location in historic Savannah

The location is excellent in the historic district. It was no more than 0.7 mile walk to everything we had planned. Of course, a car would help at times but lical and historic district parking isn't easy. The hosts were very helpful and attentive. We used the room with the murphy bed, which makes a great suite, for one of us. The only downside is that it had the only TV.

A Wonderful Home

House was so big: full dining room, full living room, in addition to bedrooms. Everything was super clean. Beds comfortable and lots of pillows. Very hot water instantly in showers. All of the surprises were good ones. We felt super safe and relaxed here. Front porch was a bonus with 5 seats. This house is about 3 blocks to Forsyth Square and the 3 blocks are beautiful homes you walk by. It was a great value. Loved all of the decorator touches. Nothing in the house is cheap. Nothing. Honestly. You should definitely stay here.

Could use a larger trash can in the kitchen, Kleenex in the bathrooms and trash cans in the bedrooms.

We were disappointed in the mattresses and pillows. They weren’t very comfortable; not what I expect from a luxury rental. I don’t know that we’d stay that close on the edge near interstate again. We were awakened by gunfire from a street over on our 2nd night Overall great house. Dryer instructions would have been nice. We kept trying to dry our clothes and 2 dats later my husband discovered the dryer was a gas unit and it wasn’t turned on.
