Great Family Stay in a Unique, beautiful and historic setting
Savannah in Springtime is magical, and a home base for our family of four doesn’t get better than The Carriage House with the most beautiful azaleas in full bloom (late March) that we have ever seen. The historic setting and the location right next to Forsyth Park are what set this VRBO apart. Would book again and would recommend to anyone.
Came into town for SCAD day. Parking was easy and we left the car parked all day and walked. Amenities were clean and comfortable. Wish we'd had more time to enjoy.
The carriage house was unique and lovely. Very cozy. Enhanced our Savannah experience. All the comforts we needed but the extra ambience was wonderful.
Had such a nice experience. I loved how thorough everything was outlined. How to check in, where to park, etc. I loved there were pictures outlining everything. We will use this host again. It was simply great. The property was just perfect and I loved the carriage house.
Short weekend stay with my husband for my birthday. Clean and charming. Walkable distance to most tourist areas. Grocery store around the corner and free parking so once we parked we didn't need to drive anywhere. The gardens were lovely for resting after a day of walking and the history of the mansion is fascinating. We'd stay here again.
Loved the property. Just as described. Close to everything. Within very short walk to coffee, grocery, and park. Would definitely stay here again. Very clean. Meet all my expectations.
We loved the little cottage-like apartment! Our family of 5 fit nicely (our 1yo was in a pack n play) and it had all the amenities we needed. The garden was lovely and the apartment was clean. It was a block away from Forsyth Park which has a playground for the kids and nearby coffee for the adults. We would absolutely stay here again—we had a wonderful stay in Savannah and a large part was due to this apartment!
Private and quiet, it’s an easy walk to the Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist, the Collins Quarter Restaurant (delicious), Forsyth Park, SCAD’s Chatham Hall, Kroger grocery store, and more.
Yes, the quarters are simple, but there’s free parking, no stairs, and no need to remember keys. It also had everything I needed, even shampoo & conditioner! I recommend the Mercer YMCA to workout if you’re a Y member.
We stayed in the 2 bedroom garden apartment, which has a lovely screened in porch. The entire place was extremely clean. It’s a historic property, so if you love sleek and modern, this isn’t your place. But if you appreciate comfort and character, you’ll love staying here. There is a Kroger a block away, and Forsythe Park and Dot transportation were just a couple of blocks away. We had no cons to this rental. Loved it!
The accomodations are as described, suitable for a family that does not expect privacy from each other. It was clean, comfortable, included utensils, cookware, towels, soaps, paper towel/toilet paper, TV with internet/youtube access. It was walking distance from all area attractions/dining/shopping. About a 20-25 minute walk to River Street. Bring bikes/electric
bikes for quick and easy travel. Owners very friendly and helpful with any questions. Only had interaction with property manager via email one time.
Having 3 beds was the selling point of this property. The location was good, about a mile walk from downtown, and there's a free bus service you can use during the day. We did see several roaches while we were there, alive and dead, and I felt one crawl across my foot while I was sleeping. I wish there was a little bit more of a logical places to put bags for the two twin beds - could there be storage under the beds maybe? We had to kind of leave them in the way in front of the beds.
We loved the charm of this lil cottage! We could smell the clean smell of fresh cleaning products upon entry. The bed had a hard mattress just like we like. We sat out in the outside sitting area with an after dinner drink before bed. Coffee maker but we did not bring coffee or condiments but will next time. There was a coffee pot and filters ready to use. There us an awesome eclectic coffee shop that was better than almost any coffee place i have enjoyed.....The Yellow (something) on Hall street. They have locations all over the world.
Just a beautiful stay in Savanah for us. Thank you
We were looking for a spot to really feel a part of historic Savannah on a short visit to SCAD with our teenage daughter -- and this was perfect! The space was cozy and comfortable next to a gorgeous historic mansion on an amazingly beautiful street. Everything was lovely and well appointed. The two twin beds worked great for our daughter (and a bonus child if we'd had one). The apartment was equipped with a SmartTV which was handy for watching Netflix at the end of the day. The site was walkable within 20 minutes of most everything --but we drove five minutes to most restaurants and sites we wanted to visit. Parking in front of the house was a breeze - and FREE (which is rare in Savannah). There's an adorable coffee shop steps away, as is Forsyth Park. If our daughter ends up going to SCAD, I could see us enjoying this cozy little spot time and again!
Me and my fiancée absolutely loved our stay while we were here. The house had everything we needed and more and was very clean and comfortable. When we messed up our booking and accidentally booked one less day than we meant to, the manager of the property reached out to us and was very kind and helped us get our stay extended. Highly recommended
