"This was ideal for me. I loved it here. It was really peaceful. I couldn't hear a thing apart from the birds and the occasional sheep. I stayed for 4 days and I wished it could have been longer. There is no TV in the hut which also suits me to the ground. The wi-fi is excellent so if you do want to watch something on an I pad or tablet you will have no problem with the reception. There was a nice touch with tea making facilities and scones provided for the 4 days that I was there. I cannot...

"We had a lovely stay. Cottage was perfect for two. Very cosy with everything we needed and very quiet. Very thoughtful touches left ready for us including a basket of logs for the fire and a hamper of goodies for our dog. Perfect location for exploring the area. We walked miles! Recommend a visit to Tar steps, Valley of the rocks and Baggy point. Also stunning beaches at Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton. Would recommend this cottage to everyone."

"I donâ€™t know if a review is needed as day 2 of our stay a for sale board appeared outside! Room sizes great. As November we didnâ€™t use the outside facilities. Kitchen was well equipped. The radiator in the family bathroom a friend burnt herself. It does get red hot so be careful. We struggled a bit with the heating as it was really cold at the beginning and then extremely warm. "Lovely property and friendly hosts. Listing on Hotels.com doesn't state number of dogs allowed, which is actually only one, but host was very understanding and accommodated us and our pets. Well located for exploring the North Devon coastal region, Bideford is lovely and we also had a great day at Westward Ho! Hot tub at the house was most welcome in the evening after a long day exploring the coastal path."

"Check in was very slow rang bell stood for 10 minutes with no answer, commenced check in, moved car to hotel side of building and then started process all over again Booking direct they offer better discounts as per card in room, tried via Green King app without success Could have stayed elsewhere with better views and breakfast included Choosing a place to stay, I will go past this one every time"

"Excellent room and hotel in general with pleasant staff however the food was very poor. Four star hotel but only offering poorly cooked pub food such as F&C, Scampi, Burgers, roast of the day etc.. nothing adventurous, no pasta, curries, no fresh fish although a few miles from the sea except fried cod from The North East I guess. It’s a fair walk to the next restaurant (a hotel) and we saw a Wetherspoons in Barnstaple which we didn’t fancy. We ended up on our last night of three collecting a sandwich from a garage and it was nicer than the previous nights F&C…. I hate writing a poor review as the staff were trying so hard and the hotel is excellent in all other aspects but someone at an executive level made the menu decision as apparently there used to be a bistro…..At 4* hotel prices one aspects 4* food to be available . I should have checked the web a bit closer I expect. Also be aware breakfast closes at 9.00am weekdays (9.30am weekends) and when you’re on a break you need a bit more leeway. It’s an expensive “full English” at £17 and then offered Eggs Benedict at a £3 supplement that’s ludicrous. I suppose we are classed as elderly and so expect everything we need on site and not to have to drive for meals."

"A modern bathroom in a 14th century hotel was definitely not expected. WiFi worked in the room. The staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast provided a good selection and the cooked items were really good. Sunday lunch was close to home made with plenty of different vegetables. Will definitely return!"
