"Lovely place, just off a main road so a handy break in my trip from Poprad Tatry Airport to Hlinne. Staff were friendly and helpful - and they spoke English, which was a definite advantage for me. They also have English menus. My previous stay, somewhere with no English menus or speakers, wasn't pleasant, but this stay was. Before anyone comments. I was in their country so they didn't have to speak English or have English menus - but it helps. "

Boutique Hotel Carpe Diem

Boutique Hotel Carpe Diem

8/10 Good
"This is a pretty boutique hotel, and we had a very nice room and bathroom. We didn't have any hand soap or body wash for the shower--I am sure they just forgot-- but the room had nice amenities, such as a minibar, easy to use plugs, big towels, plenty of light, all in all it was clean and comfortable. There is an elevator inside, but this is simply not an accessible building--even with the elevator, there are places with steps, and up to the front entrance is a good set of stone stairs! There is off street parking at the hotel, but it is at a pretty serious incline, and it is NOT easy to get out of. Mostly one has to back out, down the hill. Helpful staff, a nice breakfast, decent location near a lot of places to eat. We had a very pleasant stay."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Šarišská Trstená?
The best area to stay in Šarišská Trstená is typically in or around the main village centre.

Šarišská Trstená is a small village in the Prešov Region, not a large city with distinct neighbourhoods. The village centre is where you'll find the local church, a few shops, and any guesthouses or traditional accommodation options. It's a quiet, rural setting surrounded by natural landscapes.

For couples looking for a peaceful retreat, staying in the village centre offers a chance to experience local Slovakian life. You can enjoy walks in the surrounding countryside and explore the local culture without the distractions of a city. It's a good base for exploring the nearby areas, including the historical town of Bardejov, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which is a short drive away.

Families will also find the village centre appealing for its calm environment. Accommodation here often includes access to gardens or outdoor spaces, which is ideal for children.
When is the best time to go to Šarišská Trstená?
The best time to go to Šarišská Trstená is typically during the warmer months, from late spring to early autumn, specifically May through September.

During these months, the weather is generally pleasant, with warmer temperatures and more sunshine, making it ideal for outdoor activities and exploring the natural beauty of the Prešov Region. You'll find that the local attractions, such as the nearby hiking trails and historical sites, are fully accessible and enjoyable.

For those who appreciate nature and outdoor excursions, July and August offer the warmest weather, great for longer hikes in the surrounding countryside or visiting the open-air museums. Families travelling with children will find these months particularly suitable, as the pleasant weather allows for comfortable exploration and participation in local events that often take place during the summer holidays.

If you prefer to avoid the peak summer crowds while still enjoying good weather, May, June, and September are excellent choices. The temperatures are still mild, and the landscapes are beautiful, either with spring blooms or the colours of autumn.
