Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We love this place! It was our second year at River sands and it was just a perfect vacation. The views alone are worth it! The beach is only steps away and not crowded like the public beaches. We saw so many amazing things this year. Dolphins, crabs, a manatee and even a sea turtle! The pool and mini putt are a great break from the beach. Our only complaint is the pull out bed was quite rough to sleep on and the hot water had a musty smell. Overall we love it here and will return!

good spot for easy beach access

It had most everything we needed, maybe could use a few more kitchen items, but we got by. The living room needs a better reading lamp, but the furniture was comfortable, and the TV setup was nice. The beach access is the best thing about this resort. The complex was pretty quiet, and the pool was never very busy.

Location - Location - Location !!

This was my second visit to Silver Sands, and anxious to return again. Staff was courteous and helpful, Beach was beautiful, and just out your door. Close proximity to Sarasota and St. Armands. Numerous fine restaurants within short distance. A bit dated, but enjoyed the quiet family atmosphere, and met many nice people at poolside.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: For the most part, it was a good stay. There were a couple of issues, but would not prevent me from staying here again. The sliding door out to the patio was almost unusable. I could not open it myself. I had to have my husband open it for me. I would’ve spent more time out on the patio if the door was easier to open it really should be replaced. The furniture seemed a bit icky, unidentifiable stains on the couch, so we covered the furniture with sheets during our stay. Other than that, everything else was good. well stocked kitchen working appliances great location, we will return.

Very Pleased overall with this property. Check In was easy and staff was very polite and helpful. The grounds were well kept and the pool was clean with great seating. The room was clean and was perfect for the 2 of us. Comfortable bed and nice seating area and could see the ocean and pool from the Lanai. The parking can be tight if there are several vehicles in the lot. The washer and dryer for the complex is outside but under roof.

Great location

We had a nice spur of the moment stay at Silver Sands #255. Although the furnishings were a bit dated and worn, the unit was Clean and comfortable. We did have a few issues with AC and fridge, but the management was very helpful and immediately had someone up there to check it out. We loved the beach front convenience, heated pool, screened balcony and complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas. Kitchen was nicely stocked for cooking. We loved the smallness of the place— lots of privacy and super quiet!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Everything was perfect. The room was missing a few odds and ends, but nothing to really complain about. The resort was clean, quiet, and peaceful. I could not have imagined a better vacation. It was the perfect time of year to be there. Beautiful weather, not many people around, and the beach was not crowded. I will definitely be booking a return vacation for next year.

Ok so I had a family emergency the day I had to check in...I cannot say or share my experience...I never checked in or stayed...I asked for credit or a refund but got denied...its not the hotel's fault, they have rules they go by...I payed top dollar for a room the that I never stayed in, money lost on my behalf...Oh well...the front desk lady over the phone was very nice...I can't say anything else since I did not have experience with the property, hotel or room.

It was fine; I’m just a bit spoiled. An older property but well maintained. Bed was comfortable. LR TV very small. Unusable closet stuffed with bulk. Tiny bathroom, light bulb missing, no batteries in remote, plastic upright chairs for lanai. But great location on the island. Good front desk customer service.

Fun on the Beach

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The office staff were terrific. Explained everything well and took time to show us the location of the condo. Property was well maintained and easy to get around. Room was as described. Very clean and furnished nicely. Good view from the Lanai of the pool area and the ocean. The pool was very nice. Clean and warm. Not very busy while we were there so no crowds to deal with at the pool. We were just steps from the beach. The beach was very nice and there were several beach chairs to use from the resort. So many good places to eat or places to shop within minutes away. The only things that I wish were better were the parking area can be full and tight sometimes and the washer/dryers are outside under the 2nd floor walkway. I was very pleased overall and definitely would return.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Property staff were great and limited interaction with other guests was also great. Unit needs some maintenance--burnt out lights, missing window shadw slats resulting in minimal privacy, but it didn't bother us much. WOrst issue was paper thin walls--we could hear every word the neighbors said, knew what they were eating, and knew what was happening on all the TV shows they watched. And they weren't being particularly loud--just doing what normal people do. Weather was cold and thus we couldn't use the beach or pool, so didn't get value for the beachfront price we paid, but that's not their fault. For the price we paid, I'd go back if I knew the weather would be better and we were planning to hang around the beach/pool rather than explore the region. Probably bad planning on my part.

Disappointing

I spent the weekend in this property along with my 15-yr old daughters and a niece. The biggest issues I had were inaccurate description of the property, lack of parking spots and very loud guests. The location is definitely the main plus but that was about it. The property is in urgent need of a deep clean/upgrade. The door separating the units was really bad because we could hear everything the next door neighbor was doing including a meltdown at 2:30 am. Guests were extremely loud and disrespectful, partying until 2 am. A large group was playing loud music on the beach and then they moved to the pool at night. They left lots of trash on the beach and even the locals were taking pictures in the morning. I was hoping a quiet weekend getaway but unfortunately it didn’t happen. The description says that chairs and umbrellas were provided but there were none. Why indicate something that you know it is not available. Parking was also a nightmare. After waiting 40 min for someone to move their vehicle so I could park I was afraid to leave the property and run into the same issue again. I reported the parking issue with the property manager and although they responded, the problem persisted. Sofa bed was very uncomfortable and dirty. We were given only 1 beach towel per person for the entire weekend. Blind didn’t fully closed, tv remote had no batteries. Quite honestly this was my worst experience with vrbo.

Not as family friendly as the old days

Reviewer Comments: We have always visited the resort in the past which seemed to always be very family friendly and relaxing. I realize there will always be some music and a variety of people but this time there was a HUGE group partying all weekend which made our experience not as pleasant as previous years. They took up most of the beach with their tents and we could hear music late at night from our room. They were grilling and in the pool late and made it uncomfortable and when I say HUGE I am talking like 30 people! Although we made the best of the weekend and still met a great other family, it might be time to find another place to stay on Longboat Key.

Awkward setup

Reviewer Comments: Decided to try a new place but should of gone with what I knew was good, location needs upgrade both inside and out. Didn't like thst the enterence to the unit is through the only bedroom that then leads to the rest of the unit. Bathroom is small and needs better cleaning, furniture is wicker and full of dust , had to call on a prescription for an for my husband's inhaler. Opened the fold out couch and disturbed the sleeping roach mattress cover was discussing and children's toys found under the mattress.went to walmart abd purchased an air mattress.the only storage closet in unit was full of random items and ironing board and iron just thrown in it.unable to utilize it for bags and suitcases for 4 guests. Didn't even attempt to use public washers or dryers. The price yoy pay for this place is only because it's on the same side of the street as the gulf
