RVA offers Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort. Located beach front on beautiful Longboat Key, this resort offers all the amenities of a large hotel with the privacy and seclusion that has Silver Sands guests returning each year. Relax on our private beach, walk on our soft white sand, take a dip in our heated beachside pool, or enjoy a complimentary chaise lounge and beach umbrella while breathing in the fresh salt-water air. Practice your golf game on our putting green or relax on our beautiful beach with your favorite novel. Wireless Internet access is available in the privacy of your individual unit, at the garden area or on the pool deck.



Limited Membership Privileges: Guests of Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort #253S will have temporary membership privileges at Cedars Tennis Resort located at 645 Cedars Court on Longboat Key. The limited temporary membership allows the guest access to fully-lit Har-Tru tennis and pickleball courts (after 1 p.m. daily and subject to availability), community bicycles and Jr. Olympic heated swimming pool. The guest will also have access to the community fitness center.



Accommodations: Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort is a relaxing retreat located directly on the Gulf of Mexico on the northern-end of Longboat Key. Choose from our various unit styles including hotel rooms, one- and two-bedroom garden view units, and one- and two-bedroom beach front units.

Fabulous staff, only hickup was two broken light fixtures and a frying pan that wasn't too great. OTHERWISE, BEDS FABULOUS, VIEW FABULOUS, just perfect!

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I stayed with my wife and grandson at 253s Silver Sands. It was very costly considering the bathrooms were not acceptable, i.e. moldy grout and seal around shower and rusted out tub at the fixture. Bare bones.Kitchen ok. Sliding doors could barely move on the track and the Vertical Blinds (how 60's is that) were coming apart. Furniture was old and nasty. The beds need to be replaced, hard and lumpy for my taste. AC in the adjacent unit was not cold but in the main one it was great. Not sure if the dishwasher worked. No decent umbrellas and no beach canopies offered so you better have your own if you don't want to fry. Pool looked ok but too hot to get in. Not quality for the price. Really needs to be updated from the 60's.

Great condo on Longboat Key

Our family stayed here for five days the week after Christmas and had a great time. The boys loved the mini golf and the heated pool. The beach was really convenient and enjoyed the provided chairs. The condo had a great view of the beach and the pool. The on-site office for the complex was helpful but I could not find any quarters to do laundry so the only thing that would make this place better is a change machine or no coin operated laundry. It was an easy walk down the street to Harry’s corner store and other restaurants nearby. Will definitely stay here again!

Nice but needs to be updated

We enjoyed the property and island overall. The condo was clean and you could tell they took pride in cleaning it. The beds slept okay but need to be replaced. Thankfully, we found pillows to help. The couch either needs to be replaced or deep cleaned (I know it’s a rental but there where tons of stains and spots.) The chair in the corner needs to be thrown out or the cushions completely replaced. Overall we loved the location and smallness of the overall condo.

Online stated daily maid service. Inside we found a do not disturb sign for the door, I assumed for the daily maid service. For two days I waited for trash bags, we took our own trash out, and fresh towels. I finally called the office, only to be told they no longer do that. Every time the water went down the drain in the kitchen or the dishwasher was used the entire unit smelled like sewer. Keeping up with actual keys for the unit was not convenient either. Especially on the beach and at the pool. Then being threatened $25 a key for lost keys.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The unit was furnished nicely it was as described on the website other than for management/maintenance deficiencies. There were holes in the walls in both bathrooms where towel bars had been pulled out and the dining room chandelier was missing, just a single light bulb hanging from the cord over the table. The king size bed mattress was so hard I had to sleep on the pillows, it was like sleeping on the floor. I spoke to the on-site office personnel about all of the above, her response was that she thought maintenance had repaired the walls and that she would try to find a foam topper in one of the other rooms for the mattress. We had 2 adults and 4 teens all were accommodated nicely with the beds and sectionals.

On 7/17 I sent an email describing our stay to two RVA email addresses. I have not received a reply. So I will post a review here.Our family has stayed at Silversands for 15 years. This year we rented 3 suites and 3 regular units. This is what we encountered in 253S: Rude check in with no information to prove balance due.No toilet paper in unit.No beach towels for two days.2 Toilets running intermittently.Lock on 253 door not working properlyHousekeeping no shows and not sweeping when they do show up.A/C unit in 253A smells like mold or mildew.Bathtub cracked and rusting, grout moldy and missing in some spots. Parking lot is full of deep potholes.There were issues with at least 5 of the 6 units rented. A/C not working upon arrival and not repaired until after 7pm the FOLLOWING day, ice maker broken, no housekeeping for multiple days, one of the beds in very poor condition. It's a shame this once very nice property is in such disrepair. Very disappointing that the service and quality that we paid for was not delivered.

My sister stayed in unit 254 and we opened the doors between the units and had a 3 bedroom, 2 kitchen, 3 bathroom and 2 fold out couch suite! It was so nice to be connected like that. The units were very clean and comfortable and access to the beach and pool is great too! Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Amazing experience and my family and I will be back soon!!

The toilet was not working properly and had previously been worked on. The air In The hotel room didn’t work properly. The door on the refrigerator was on backwards and very inconvenient. If this is someone’s condo the kitchen isn’t properly equipped. The rooms weren’t not very clean. There was food under the sofa. And we were supposed to be downstairs and they put us upstairs which I found out by accident when I called them. Beds were terrible Not very good at all

Love the private beach, away from the big crowd.Not a pool person, but kids love it. Very nice around the resort, very clean and friendly staff. I've already recommend it to my friends.

Terrific Location

The location on the beach was wonderful and there were some really marvelous restaurants nearby. The condo itself was very clean and the appliances were new. While not plush, it was a terrific spot for a vacation stay. The layout was a little strange, with the front door leading right into the bedroom and the adjoining bedroom of the two bedroom suite also right in the master bedroom but it worked out fine and gave us a beautiful view of the beach and great sunsets. Unfortunately, the lock on the outside door of the adjoining room did not work properly and we got locked out on New Year's eve. It took some time, but the emergency number was answered and they helped us gain access to the room. Also, there was hardly any silverware in the drawer; but, again, the accommodating staff provided what we needed. The fitness center was about a block away but was well appointed, clean and available 24 hours a day, which we enjoyed.
