Poolside Peace – Silver Sands Resort #242 by RVA

RVA offers Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort. Located beach front on beautiful Longboat Key, this resort offers all the amenities of a large hotel with the privacy and seclusion that has Silver Sands guests returning each year. Relax on our private beach, walk on our soft white sand, take a dip in our heated beachside pool, or enjoy a complimentary chaise lounge and beach umbrella while breathing in the fresh salt-water air. Practice your golf game on our putting green or relax on our beautiful beach with your favorite novel. Wireless Internet access is available in the privacy of your individual unit, at the garden area or on the pool deck.



Limited Membership Privileges: Guests of Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort #242 will have temporary membership privileges at Cedars Tennis Resort located at 645 Cedars Court on Longboat Key. The limited temporary membership allows the guest access to fully-lit Har-Tru tennis and pickleball courts (after 1 p.m. daily and subject to availability), community bicycles and Jr. Olympic heated swimming pool. The guest will also have access to the community fitness center.



Accommodations: Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort is a relaxing retreat located directly on the Gulf of Mexico on the northern-end of Longboat Key. Choose from our various unit styles including hotel rooms, one- and two-bedroom garden view units, and one- and two-bedroom beach front units.

Location and Relaxation

This property was perfect for us! It's right on the beautiful beaches that this area is known for. It was well decorated, had everything we needed, large screened in porch, heated pool, etc. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect location on Longboat

This was the perfect location on longboat. We loved the pool and being right on the beach. The kitchen had all the tools we needed and the community grills were great to use

It was so quiet on the property! We practically had the beach to ourself also. They provided beach chairs & umbrellas. Super easy check-in & check-out. The condo itself was nice & clean & had beautiful views. 10/10 all around

Gulf vaca

I booked this property online because it was one of the most reasonably priced. It has rooms that lead directly to the pool and the beautiful beach beyond. I’m handicapped and really appreciated being able to go right out our screened in patio to pool or beach. The water was aqua and gorgeous! The people were so nice and very accommodating! Highly recommend!

Silver Sands 2023

Had a great time staying in 242. Pool clean, nice temp. Beach clean. Room had new large flat screen tv and Netflix, Prime capable. The people in the office were extremely nice, professional and helpful. The baseboards and vents could use a good cleaning but everything else was good.

Much needed get away

Our stay was wonderful. The area and grounds were beautiful and it was super easy to get to the beach. My husband is disabled and this was a huge plus. The unit was what was advertised. We loved it being on the ground floor with no steps to climb. The king sized bed was very comfortable and the tv with Netflix options was a plus we do not get to enjoy this amenity at home. The front desk was very helpful and courteous. The only observations that may need attention are the shower pressure and drain. The pressure was low and the drain didn’t want to work very well. We made it fine but it might be an area to consider looking into. It might be good to have a few more utensils in the kitchen as well as a noodle ladle.

September 2024 stay at Silver Sands #242

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed here several times. Our room was adequate. Water pressure in shower and bathroom sink was horrible. The bed in this unit needs to be replaced. So uncomfortable. Felt like we were sleeping on hard springs. TV was nice in sitting room. Management was wonderful as always and very accommodating. Washers and dryers are old and need to be replaced. Overall housekeeping and cleanliness of room was satisfactory. Couch in sitting room needs to be replaced. Very old and uncomfortable. Unfortunately, during our stay the pool area was overtaken by a large group of guests playing loud music and monopolizing every table and chair. We couldn't get in and out of the pool because they had tied up a beach umbrella to the handrail and using the steps to get in and out of the pool was not an option. In the past our stays have been quiet and very little guests. And the biggest turn off with the pool area is that guests were coming straight from the beach and not rinsing off and the pool was filled with sand and not so clean. Plus, my wife and I did not see one guest exit the pool to use a bathroom all day leaving us to believe that the pool was the bathroom. I mean we were at the pool from 9am to 4pm every day and not one person got out except for my wife and I to use the facilities. Finally, the outside patio sitting area needs new furniture. Some chairs are damaged. And the screened in porch needs to be replaced. Many holes in the screen causing critters to get in. And the door latch on the screen door was broke. Someone prior to us staying there broke the screen to unlatch the door and we did get locked out a few times. Would we stay there again, yes. It's our Florida spot and always has been. But definitely would stay in a different room or updated room for the amount of money we pay to stay there.
