Amazing and beautiful home with so many wonderful places to hang out. The interior was very well appointed. The colors, the lighting, the dimmer switches, the well-appointed kitchen, and the views from every window made for a beatiful time. Super comfortable furniture and bed. It was just two of us and this just perfect. The photos show it as it us but the experience was so much better. A truly lovely home. We even bought the same chairs they have by the fire pit for our fire area. Amazing!

Great Mountain Getaway

Relaxing and enjoyable family vacation

Our family trip to Sapphire was full of adventure to waterfalls, kayaking, great restaurants, and relaxing at the nearby resort’s indoor pool/ hot tub. The house is on a lake that does not allow loud boats so the kayaking was smooth. One of the bedrooms had a private balcony and my adult daughters appreciated the other bedrooms with a full bath for each person. The owners were very communicative and helped make the vacation perfect!

Cozy getaway

We had a small family get together and had a great time. The home was in a beautiful location on a quiet lake and was perfect for our group. It was clean and well kept, and was close by to lots of outdoor activities as well as restaurants and pubs. We enjoyed the fire pit and kayaks as well. Would definitely stay again

Amazing Lake house

I can’t say enough about how amazing this property is. It was clean and comfortable with a beautiful view. The owner thought of everything! Anything you might need during your stay, the property owner made sure to provide it. We would love to stay again!

Wonderful hideaway

We loved Drew’s serene mountain house on the lake. My son caught brim and trout everyday on the creek. We played pickle ball and went kayaking at the resort, and enjoyed the fine dining and shopping in Cashiers. A wonderful house that is clean and cozy.

The perfect mountain lake cabin!

We were fortunate to be able to visit this beautiful property for two weeks. The cabin easily accommodated five adults and two small children. It was clean and updated and had an amazing view of the lake below. All of us caught fish, including the four and six year olds! We hope to visit again in the future!

Gorgeous cabin on the lake!

The pictures don’t do this place justice! This location was gorgeous, and well maintained. Our family of 5 had more space than we knew what to do with. The kids loved going down to the lake, and the view was outstanding. Would come back again if we’re in the area!!

Fantastic 3 weeks away...

We had a fantastic long getaway! The house is exactly as depicted in pictures and well stocked with essentials. The dock is one of the nicest around the lake, and we spent so much time swimming, fishing, and exploring the lake on the kayaks that were provided. Highly recommend!

Scenic and serene cabin on a mountain lake.

Although access is easy, the property is secluded with a great lake view and access. The house is well maintained, clean and comfortable. Fall colors were gorgeous. Kayaking the lake was a bonus. Also close to a great hike on the Whiteside Mountain trail. Great restaurants in the area also. I would come back again.

Perfect place to enjoy fall colors!

We and our friends found the house just perfect for a fall escape! The beds were comfy, the kitchen ideally outfitted, living area comfortable and the view to the river so pretty. During our week-long stay, we played golf, pickle ball, hiked Whiteside and Rainbow Falls, took a boat ride on Lake Toxaway, shopped in Highlands, and ate at great restaurants. Despite all that activity, it was a wonderfully relaxing time!

A nice getaway in the mountains

Stayed a week with another couple. Kayaking, waterboarding (brought our own) and eating at several of the fine area restaurants. The evenings and days were cool and comfortable and the house was as advertised. Check in was easy, but it might be a good idea to print directions before you get there. Cell service is pretty sketchy near the cottage.

Beautiful home

We had great time with our friends at this house. The stairs to dock will give you great workout (we named the house Stair master) but we all got used to it after 2 days. We took advantage of the canoes, fished of the dock and had fires in the fire pit. This house has all you need.

Second Visit - Great house!

This is our second time booking an extended stay at this house, and it is still one of our favorites! We spent 2 weeks at the house and it was plenty of space for our family of four and another family that spent part of the trip with us. The house is clean, well kept, and has everything we need. The dock is fantastic for fishing and swimming, and we love the access to the kayaks and canoe. The lake is quiet and great for kids to explore since there aren't motorized boats. You can't go wrong with this rental!

AN AMAZING!! peaceful retreat

WOW! WOW! The Lake - the views - the area - the quiet - the peacefulness ! If you are looking for a beautiful well done space in the heart of the mountains tucked in beside a beautiful mountain lake - rent this property! It was everything and more ! So close to Cashiers and Lake Toxaway and things to do right close at hand as well. Drew was perfect with food and activity recommendations but to be honest you won't want to leave the house and decks, dock and porches - so amazing ! book it!

Best time ever!

We had the best quality family time with our two sons.....we spent time just kayaking and fishing for hours and spent time around the fire pit just talking....everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom so there was plenty of privacy. Check in/out was very easy. The house and property looks exactly as it does in the pictures. Everyone is already thinking about the next time we might be able to come back again!! Family friend for active family

We enjoyed our stay by the lake. We had a wide range of ages and everyone had something to do. I will say that there are a lot of steps leading down to the lake and able and active people would have no problem going down and up, but small children and older adults may decide not to make the decent down as often. You don’t have to go far to find something to do, we hiked, went to the indoor pool, went to the Whiteside Brewery which has a field the kids can play in. We even spent an entire day at the house, went out on the Kayaks, grilled, the kids enjoyed the whole loft area and made it into a stage and put on a performance. Great stay and super relaxing. Drew answered all my questions beforehand and check in and out was a breeze.

Lovely mountain lake home!

We loved renting this cozy mountain home, perfectly set up for our human and furry family! Everything is so fresh and clean, we appreciated the soaps and spices on hand. It's nice to have some empty cabinet space to store things, as well. We had a fantastic time jumping off the dock (deep at the end!), and using the canoes and kayaks with life vests provided.It was our boys first time in a canoe, and it was the perfect place to start. The water was calm, we had fun watching for underwater trees and limbs. We saw and heard hawks, doe and fawn, and a heron. All from the yard or lake! We hiked Rainbow Falls and Silver Run Falls (the latter had a great swimming hole, but COLD!), ate at Whiteside Brewing and Crossroads Custard, went to the Sapphire Valley Resort (Drew helped us get the guest passes for a minimal fee, on an as used basis) and picnicked on the Green. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and Drew was very helpful answering questions beforehand and during our stay. We couldn't be more pleased!

Location is great - house is just ok

The location was great. It only took about 10 min to get to Cashiers. My kids loved fishing off the dock and using the kayaks and canoe. The house was disappointing. There were several doors that didn’t latch and therefore couldn’t be locked for privacy. The master was one, plus there is a sliding barn door from dining area into master so privacy is limited. The blinds on the master windows are light fingering so if you are sensitive to light, you’re not going to be able to sleep in. Also, there is a door to the exterior from the master with paned windows and no window treatment on that. The master bathtub is very old and very slick. The shower curtain liner had mold on it and there were several light bulbs burned out around the house. We only stayed 2 nights so we just dealt with it , but it would have been really frustrating had we planned to stay longer.
