Had to check in at a different property that was nearby. Once we figured all that out, the staff was super helpful and friendly and gave us tips on places to go and see while we were there. Enjoyed our room too. Cozy, comfortable and near historic sites, which we loved!

The location is very central and close to everything. The coffee machines were very frustrating, some worked, some didn’t, some had water most didn’t, no creamers. It took myself and a fellow traveller 25 minutes to get two coffees. The hotel itself is quite noisy, the walls are not sound proof so every morning and evening you can hear each floor of people moving around. The market right across the street was awesome.

Great place and very central

We stayed just one night. The Pension was perfect and so well situated opposite the market and near the cathedral, plus one minute from the bus stop to the airport. The garden looked great too, but we arrived fairly late in the day so didn't use it. The one small thing was that the directions to the Pension from the hotel were not very clear. We had to use Google to find it.

O Xardin de Julia is affiliated with the more upscale Hotel Altamira where you check in and can have a fantastic buffet breakfast for 12 Euros each. The staff were helpful, the room small but nicely appointed. The galleria in our room allowed light to flow in and granted a beautiful view of the garden and city. The downside in summer when the windows are open is the nonstop party music of a nearby venue.

Gorgeous property right in the heart of Santiago de Compostela. (Around a 5 - 10 minute walk to the Cathedral.) Comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms with amazing showers! I had an issue with the flush on the toilet not working and it was fixed within minutes. (Although unfortunately the issue did occur again during my stay.)

We loved the location as it really was just a climb of 3 flights of stairs across the street from the centre of the old town. So fairly easy and quick access to all the market, churches, cathedral, historical buildings and restaurants! Our hostel was neat and well maintained, but we certainly wished they had a receptionist on site instead of having to call or walk over to the sister hotel to ask for assistance or directions. The other thing that was somewhat upsetting, but had less to do with the quality of service, was we unfortunately had unruly guests in the apartment next to us, and since the walls were not soundproof, it did put a damper on our visit, and certainly didn’t allow us to have a good night’s rest.
