The location is superb for exploring the old town on foot, though the bar next door can be noisy late into the night if you're in one of the front bedrooms. Staff were exceptionally welcoming and helpful.

Stay in Santiago de Compostela

The receptionists at the front desk could not have been more helpful and friendly. While I speak Spanish, both were fluent in English, and offered any help they could. The breakfast was also very good.

The Hotel Carris is in a wonderful location -- near the center of the old town and just a short walk to the Cathedral. The room was small, but was comfortable for two. The staff was extremely helpful and warm. The only quibble: the water temperature in the shower was finicky.

A little disappointing

Hotel in very good location and was pretty comfortable. However we were a little disappointed with some aspects of our stay. Breakfast was not good for the price. Not a great selection, no freshly squeezed orange juice, which we had everywhere else in Spain. Hot food not good. No decaf coffee apart from instant. Shower tray felt flexible when you stood on it. Pillows not very comfortable. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Great location- very close to Cathederal. Lovely restaurant across the street a few steps away and another next door for breakfast- also two bars beside the hotel. Everything you need on the doorstep. Staff were very very helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel
