Great hotel, great location, good restaurants. Awesome holiday.
Tip: upon check in, do ask if they foresee any oarties, concerts or loud events. There were parties 3 nights in a row, music was great but it went on past midnight.

The room was dated but comfortable. We had several large cockroaches I had to kill and remove. The Buffett was just “ok” as well as the food in the restaurants. The staff was friendly. Nothing special about this resort.

We loved Breakfast. Bungalows were ok but need upgrade in showers and toilets. Staff is very friendly. Check however they need to have better customer service and accommodate guests with their request. We requested two famiiies to be one next to the other and we were told there were no rooms. Spent one hour at check in until we were given rooms one next to the other. Other family. All US Residents were told to pay IVA because they entered with Colombian eye detector. They could out validate he was US resident even after showing papers and passport.
We always have issues with rooms given at check in every trip we make to Irotama.
They should look on how to make it easier. Put more air at the lobby too. It gets too hot.
Our experience at Irotama was amazing. The grounds are incredibly beautiful, well-tended to, and clean. We stayed in a bungalow which we found very comfortable. It was enjoyable to sit out in front in the morning to have coffee and enjoy the view. It felt very private and was quite comfortable.
The beach was beautiful, swimmable, and unobstructed by buildings. We could view it from the bungalow, shaded beach chairs/table, and restaurants. There are vendors who walk the beach selling a variety of goods-jewelry, hats, food, drink, massages. The less we engaged, the more we were left alone and vice versa. Bring Colombian Pesos if you wish to purchase anything on the beach.
The pools are excellent! I loved the main pool at ground level, especially swimming in the late afternoon and evening. It wasn’t too crowded or noisy.
The staff at Irotama were so friendly and helpful. We speak English and some Spanish and found very few English speakers. Downloading a translation app was helpful for more complex interactions.
Aside from meals at Irotama, shopping and food is available a ten minute walk away at Zazue Mall. There are many options to choose from, as well as a grocery store. There is also a small convenience store on the road in-between Irotama and Hilton.
It’s simple to get to Irotama from the airport and back again. A shuttle runs on a regular schedule. I would definitely visit here again.

I booked a Bungalow to be closer to the beach but the unit wasn’t in good condition, there was not luggage benchs, no coffee maker, no table at the porche. the phone didn’t work so to request anything we had to walk to the main building or call from the bar. The fridge was damaged and the first morning there was water in the way to the bathroom and my husband fell. After that we had to ask to be asigned to a unit in proper condition for any guest. The customer service manager was very diligent and relocated us to an apartament with an upgrade something that was fair considering an unpleasant first night.
A recomendación to house keeping departament to instruct the staff to be careful closing doors when cleaning. the third night our apartament was infested by mosquitos. We didn’t left the door open but I asked to apply bug spray in the balcony and probably they should have left the slide door open.
Hope Ziritama keep up the quality service they used to have a fee years ago
Cheers
We stayed at Irotama Bungalows and had a wonderful experience. The cabin was spacious, and the beds were very comfortable, which made our stay especially relaxing. The location is ideal—everything is conveniently close, including the restaurant and the beach.
The hotel staff were very attentive and friendly throughout our stay, always ready to help. The breakfast buffet was delicious and offered a great variety of options each morning, if your breakfastis included, don'tforget to order a free arepa de huevo. The beach is just a short walk away, and it was clean, safe, and perfect for enjoying the ocean, sunset is magical.
Overall, I highly recommend Irotama Bungalows for a comfortable and enjoyable getaway.
Overcharged for our stay by the front desk! Still waiting for our refund since we came home almost a week ago! The front desk at the Bungalows and Bohios have been very slow at getting back to us too. Food is amazing; never had a bad meal though. The black sand is super pretty. And we had cooler water in our shower the entire stay so if you can’t handle cold showers suggest staying in the hotel.

I love the hotel and accommodations , people is nice and the food is really good
The food is very expensive, and Expedia was not honest with my reservation, it makes a change in it, and never told me. Expedia didn’t pay my breakfast, which was the reason why I chose the hotel, but they did not do it. The hotel’s food very expensive, and Expedia dishonest.
not bad but the expenses you got to watch carefully as they charge for everything with out checking with you. Suggestion for next time will be to get ALL INCLUSIVE
