The best time to visit Santa Cruz Do Xingu is during the dry season, which runs from May to September.During these months, the weather is more predictable with less rainfall and lower humidity, making outdoor activities and exploration much more comfortable. The river levels are also lower, which can be advantageous for fishing and wildlife spotting along the banks of the Xingu River. This period is ideal for those looking to experience the natural beauty and activities of the region without the disruption of heavy rains. For travellers interested in wildlife observation, particularly birdwatching or spotting capybaras and caimans, the dry season offers clearer skies and more active animals near the reduced water sources. The trails are also drier, making walks through the surrounding areas more enjoyable. If your primary interest is fishing, the lower water levels of the dry season often concentrate fish in specific areas, potentially leading to better catches.
