"This is by far the best property I've ever booked through Expedia. The house sits on the edge of a beautiful working farm, across an ancient Roman bridge. A lovely ten-minute walk into town, you cross another bridge that offers a spectacular view the river. The owners live nearby and are the most hospitable and generous hosts imaginable, sharing fresh produce from their farm and knowledge of the area."

"I read a number of the negative reviews (after I had booked) and arrived at the hotel with anticipation of being disappointed. I am glad to say we had a lovely stay. Food was good, staff helpful, it is a lovely setting. I stayed in the river view suite and the room was great. Design good and lots of space. There is a lovely walk along the river. My only regret was that I had not figured where the hot buffet was at breakfast. I only spotted it when I was leaving. Thankfully, I was not there when children were in residence. I saw that a number of previous guests had complained of child disruption/noise. I can see how that would affect the tranquility. Maybe check for times when children are least likely to be around if you want to enjoy the peace and quiet. I would definitely stay there again."

"We had the most wonderful stay here for 3 days over easter. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, every part of it is carefully thought out. The decor is gorgeous, rooms spacious with lovely high ceilings and it is immaculately clean. The grounds are stunning, service and staff exceptional, i cannot think of one negative thing about our stay. Breakfast was also excellent and dinner in the restaurant the same with very reasonable pricing too for a 5 star hotel. A couple of minutes walk away are a couple of pleasant local restaurants and if you have a car, lots of hikes nearby. We loved every minute of our stay and would return in a heartbeat. "

"We had a great time at Quinta das Tilias Douro Valley. The view does not disappoint...beautiful!It was easy to find with the instructions given and Marcos was always available to answer questions before and after arrival. The property is quiet and peaceful. Easy parking for several cars. There is also a small grocery store less than a 5 minute drive away. There wasn't a lot of English spoken there, but we were able to get everything we needed with no problems. The weather was cool and damp during our visit so we did not use the pool, but it looked to be in nice condition.This was our first time using a home rental, and everything went very smoothly, from the booking to communication with Marcos. We would do this again and if you're looking for a beautiful and relaxing getaway, I would highly recommend this property!P.S. We really enjoyed eating at Desvio Roulote Bar, which was only a few minutes away. Delicious, affordable food in a fun, laid back atmosphere "
