"The property is located on the water side of the street with lovely gardens and two pools well maintained. There is a nice boardwalk down to the beach and the designated chairs and umbrellas for this property only. There are two pools and exercise room. It is attached to the casino, but it is a separate entrance. There is paid for valet parking or free access to self-parking a block or so away. The grounds are well kept and beautiful. Our room had a balcony overlooking the ocean. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it, It is at the end of the main tourist street with the restaurants and stores but far enough as not to hear the noise of the busy street."

I decided to switch my package to all inclusive once I’d arrived. The quality of food and drink is really good I especially enjoyed the different breads and salads available in the restaurants. "Great value deal off-season & mid-week, looks quite new. Amenities & cleanliness actually score closer to 4.5 if more precise, due some nitpicks (at least one was easily fixable). Mountain gives beautiful views - terrace is a great place to eat breakfast/a la carte restaurant meals from (covered for shade). Included breakfast buffet great, totally worth it - choice of fruit/cereals/muesli/cooked breakfast (good), several fruit juices/coffee, milk choices including lactose-free milk ("sem lactose" in Portuguese) as well as other non-dairy "milk"s without a special request. Reception spoke enough/good English. Went extra mile when mentioned was my wife's birthday one evening, came out with a little cake with candles (like a big brownie + pretty, decorative icing), plus left another in our room's fridge. Pools are lovely (though covered outdoor warm one was full of little dark-coloured bits of perhaps the wooden boards around/stuff from between the ridges there). So much across 3 linked blocks (A, B, C) with numerous floors but because of all the corridors & going up/down levels in lifts or stairs to move across them to get to the different facilities, can feel like a rabbit warren. But a well signed one (except one area exiting a lift/stairs I ended up unsure which way to go). Nit-picks: - Missing corkscrew/sharp knives, maid got 1 (said should've had, maybe unchecked between guests). - Hairs on shower wall - Limiting fridge layout (removed shelves for wine/any carton)"

"Everyone one was great, we had a room with balcony and a fantastic view. Just a short was to the sand down the stairs. Security was awesome (police station two doors down). It’s on a walk street but you can unload at the door (just make sure you get the code to get the car in the street prior to arrival. The village is awesome also. Parking is free on the streets."

"I had a wonderful stay at Vale d'El Rei Hotel & Villas. The property was beautiful, peaceful, and exceptionally clean, with a very relaxing atmosphere. Everything was well maintained, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The breakfast was especially impressive, with a great variety of fresh and delicious options to start the day. The location is a little away from the main road, so having a car is definitely recommended, but that also gives the hotel a quiet and relaxing setting away from the crowds. Overall, everything was excellent, and I really enjoyed my stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again."
