Schweitzer Luxury and comfort

Beautiful, newer 3 story, 1,800 ft2 condo at Schweitzer Mountain. 3+ Bedrooms (plus additional queen sofa bed in den), 2.5 baths. Additional den is great for keeping kids entertained. Comfortably sleeps 8 - 12. Large, king bed in master suite with walk-in closet, Beautiful Queen guest room, and two sets of single-over-twin bunk beds in 'bunk room'. We are original owners and provided all furnishings and amenities for ourselves and 4 children including: Granite countertops throughout, pre-wired sound system throughout condo, 3 flat screen TV's, stereo, DVD player, CD changer, CD video library, Bar, Gas fireplace, 2 car-heated garage with ski/board racks, private deck. The kitchen has gas range, quality owner-type cookware (as opposed to rental) including waffle iron, coffee maker, crock pot, blender, etc.

This has been our family ski condo and have spent the last 6 Christmases all together here. Now that all 4 our children have left home, we made the decision to let others start building their memories as we have (plus my wife wants to go somewhere warm!), so as of Nov. 8, it is still available for Christmas, New Year's and all other holidays.

Cozy / Classy
Thank you to Dan Baker for sharing his cozy/classy condo, a great home base from which to discover North Idaho. The three grandkids found the multi-story arrangement to be part of the adventure, and it was no problem for our mid-30s sons. I do have to admit it was a good workout for Grandpa and me. Great Grandma was a trooper. We only made her climb the first set of stairs to the living area once each day, and she was comfortable to sleep there so never had to climb further. We all slept comfortably and the bathrooms were all very clean, roomy and functional. We did note that one of the toilet seat hinges on the 2nd floor bathroom was broken, but it didn't cause a problem for us as we had to install a riser there for Great Grandma anyway. The kitchen was clean and well stocked with dishes, cookery and utensils. We did not find replacement supplies of either paper towels or toilet paper, so we bought some and left them for the next family, plus some coffee and popsicles we didn't use up. The ice-maker wasn't hooked up, and there has been a little existing damage to one of the floorboards from a slow water leak still happening from under the fridge. The barbeque cover had been left on the balcony floor, so it and the barbeque trays were pretty dirty. I washed the barbeque exterior with hot soapy water, and I put the cover on before we left, and in the process found a trash bag full of a previous renter's soiled baby diapers still hanging from the rail post hidden behind the barbeque. We hauled it to the dumpsters with our own trash when we left. In response to someone's earlier review about the heat: Our first night we were pretty miserable until about 2:00 a.m., but it is July and we didn't arrive and open the place up until evening. The rest of our stay, with no storms in the forecast, we left upper story windows open all day and the place stayed very comfortable. Yes there are many windows without screens, and yes there were some bugs attracted to the light after dark, but only a few moths and "mosquito eaters" (and one lone mosquito with a death wish. He got his wish.) There is a huge supply of DVDs, watchable on the ground floor only, but you can stream movies in the second floor living room or the third floor master bedroom. We enjoyed our stay very much, so thanks again to our host!

Great location, a few issues but overall not too bad!
We spent Labor Day weekend at this property with our 4 kiddos, a dog and my brother in law. This was a great place for our group, there was lots of space for us all to spread out and not feel cramped or on top of each other. The location was wonderful, a quick drive up to the Resort and a short walk to a pub! The good: Well decorated and well stocked! It had all the kitchen ware we needed and then some! Lots of towels and linens, games and movies! it's nicely laid out. We enjoyed putting the 2 teens boys downstairs, the 2 younger kids in the "bunk room" and my brother in law in the guest queen and husband and I in the master! The powder room was great to have an 2 bathrooms were definitely a plus! It was dog friendly which is great and hard to find! Our pup had fun! The bad: it was very hot in the condo and the AC didn't cool the house off at all. It got up to 80 degrees in the house 1 day! We opened the windows to find out that only about 1/8 of the windows actually had screens on them. So we were letting bugs in with the windows open which isn't ideal. The ceiling fans in the rooms helped some, but the guest queen fan was shaking/rocking so bad it looked like it was going to fall down! The queen guest bed was not very comfortable but we didn't have any problems with the master bed. When we arrived it smelled like dog- which is natural in a dog friendly house so not too surprised by that! There were no paper towels or toilet paper in the house, so my husband ran to the Walmart the next morning to stock the house up. That was a bit frustrating. The freezer leaked a little water on the floor occasionally, the house looked like it hadn't been dusted in months. Lots of dust build up on the blinds, the entertainment center, etc....there were mouse droppings behind the pull out couch downstairs and under the kitchen sink. There was also about 2 bags of trash/garbage piled up in the garage. There was a maintenance couple? on Saturday morning on the back deck of the property scraping and repainting the porch...? Thought that was odd for 8:00am on the Saturday of Labor Day Weekend....they were nice but didn't really enjoy a man on the back patio painting while I was working out in the living room! Overall the house met our needs and was in a great location for enjoying the mountain and the the town of Sandpoint. It's spacious and well laid out. It needs some up keep - proper cleaning and some updates/touch ups would do wonders for the rental!

One of the best we have ever booked
This is an amazing rental-- probably one of the best we have ever stayed at. The property owner was fast to communicate with us with any questions we had. The floor plan is amazing. So many options for people to sleep and hang out. Our teens hung out on the bottom level most nights. It was comforting, clean, and beautiful On a side note there were a few Christmas items up which was fantastic for us... a family on a vacation during the summer...during a pandemic...it filled us with the exciting memories of the season. If we stay in this area again we will for sure rent again from this owner! Fantastic. Thank you!
