Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Sandia?
The best area to stay in Sandia is the town centre, particularly around the Plaza de Armas.

This area is the heart of Sandia and is very walkable, making it easy to get around. You'll find most of the town's essential services, such as banks and the local market, within a few blocks of the main square. The Plaza de Armas itself is a pleasant spot, often bustling with local activity and bordered by the church and municipal buildings.

For travellers looking for convenience and a taste of local life, staying near the Plaza de Armas is ideal. It provides direct access to local eateries, where you can sample regional dishes, and small shops selling local crafts and goods.
When is the best time to go to Sandia?
The best time to go to Sandia is during the dry season, which runs from May to October.

During these months, you'll experience clearer skies and less rainfall, making it much more pleasant for exploring the region's natural beauty and outdoor activities. The daytime temperatures are generally mild and comfortable, though evenings can be cool. This period is ideal for hiking, visiting coffee plantations, and enjoying the stunning landscapes around Sandia without the disruption of heavy rains.

While the wet season (November to April) brings lush greenery, it also means more frequent and sometimes heavy downpours, which can make travel and outdoor excursions more challenging. Roads might be less accessible, and visibility can be reduced.
Can I cancel my hotel reservation on Expedia?
You can cancel your hotel reservation on Expedia, although it depends on the cancellation policy of your booking. Most bookings are refundable if cancelled within 24 to 48 hours of the scheduled arrival. Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy. If free cancellation is available, you can cancel directly through your Expedia account by logging in, going to 'My Trips' and selecting your reservation. To find flexible deals, filter your search by 'Fully refundable property' for hotels in Sandia.
How can I save on a hotel booking in Sandia with Expedia?

Booking an Expedia hotel and flight package is another great way to save, where bundling can result in significant savings. *Excludes taxes and fees.
