The quintessential lake stay awaits you on the shoreline of Hermit Lake. An ideal landing pad for outdoor lovers, the cabin boasts a lake-view yard with a gas grill. When you aren't lounging on the spacious balcony, gazing out at marvelous views, head just up the street to Hermit Lake Beach for an afternoon swim. Neighboring towns like Meredith and Laconia are within quick driving distance, offering a variety of local eateries and shops. Up the road a bit further, Gunstock Mountain and Campton Mountain Ski Area offer thrilling skiing opportunities.
Lined by warm wood finishes, the interior of Hermit Lake Retreat blends the perfect mix of rustic charm and homey convenience. The wood stove is ornamental only, and it is not to be used to make a fire. The kitchen is well-equipped for all of your cozy home cooking sessions, whereas the living room's plush seating and smart TV lend themselves to movie nights. The adults of the group will appreciate the separate bar space off the living room.
The main, upper level of the home, displays the three bedrooms and an additional seating area. One of the bedrooms even has a remote workstation. Partial air-conditioning, a board game collection, internet access, and an automatic backup generator tie together the interior amenities.
As the sunset's orange, pink, and yellow hues begin to set over the water, head for the deck where amazing stargazing opportunities are best accompanied by gooey s'mores.
Things to Know This retreat has a newly installed (April 2024) 225-foot well that produces 8.5 gallons a minute. 179 feet of Lakefront Automatic Full House Generator will turn on if the power goes out. This will keep the house running until power is restored to the home. Great trip protector against power loss. This property is managed by Vacasa New Hampshire LLC.

We loved that it’s only 20 minutes from every thing ! The views are amazing in every room ! We just loved everything about the House!! Especially the deck and fireplace !! We are definitely coming back here every year! Can’t wait to next year !
This rental was perfect! Lovely views of the lake from the deck and back bedrooms. Plenty of space for our group to hangout and relax. Beds were comfortable and plenty of pillows and towels were available. I would rent this property again!
The house, location and views were wonderful. Home was clean and comfortable. Only issue was air conditioning, only units are in bedrooms on upper floor. No air on main living area. Temps were mid 90's and we had to keep one bedroom air unit off because the power would go off on the kitchen if we used all 4 units. Just check to see of owner resolved before going. Other then that it was a beautiful place!

A Blissful Escape: A Blissful Escape: Long Weekend in the Hermit Lake House
The lake house offers comfort and coziness for relaxation. It is equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay. spacious living room with new comfortable furniture where you can relax and enjoy the beautiful view of the lake through the large windows. The kitchen has everything you need, so you can prepare your favorite dishes. The bedrooms are provided with very comfortable mattresses (I can say this because I have had back problems for almost 40 years) and very clean and soft bed linen, we were able to sleep well after a day of active recreation on the lake. Towels in the bathroom are available in sufficient quantities and are absolutely snow-white. The house also has a spacious balcony where we enjoyed the fresh air and beautiful views. The balcony has a gas fire pit so you can enjoy evening gatherings outdoors. Overall, the lake house offers a comfortable and relaxing space where you can enjoy nature and spend quality time with loved ones.
I would like to add : the guest service instantly responds to calls or messages
House is wonderful and was perfect for our group of five which consisted of my husband and I, our daughter and grandchildren. There was plenty of room for all of us! The bedrooms are air conditioned which is great for the summer months. The main living room featured four comfortable lazy boy chairs and beautiful views of the lake. The deck was spacious featuring a gas fireplace which we enjoyed in the evenings. The deck was perfect for sitting and watching the loons. The house had plenty of towels including towels to be used for the lovely beach which is a two minute drive from the house.
I took one star off because the TV didn’t work for our entire stay which was six days. After several conversations with the VACASA management team and being told someone would come out to rectify the issue, no one ever came out to the house. Therefore, it did not get resolved. This was more a reflection of not being able to speak directly to the owner who would be most knowledgeable about connecting the TV to the internet instead of having to go through a management company.
Overall we were very happy with our stay and would definitely return!

Stay was ok
I have used Vrbo many times and always check the comments. Never left one before, but I have also not had a bad experience like this either. The location of the property and the check in check out process was pretty easy. There were a couple things I told management right away there were broken items and missing pieces to things. In the photos you can see a wood stove and a fireplace. The wood stove is obviously not hooked up but the fireplace was not allowed to be used either, although there was 2 pieces of wood left. The slider door did not open as well. I’m not sure why it would be locked. The other thing I noticed right away was there was no pantry items. Just pepper. So if your going to be cooking a lot make sure you bring spices and oils ect. Another thing is it says no pets allowed. But has dog/cat doors and pet bowls as well. So if you are allergic to dogs or cats I would reconsider. I gave the cleanliness a low score because there was a ton of dust on the walls and cob webs along with garbage under the couches you could see when you put up the recliners. If you go in the winter the heat control is on the bottom floor. So if the heat is turned up to warm up the bottom floor it becomes stifling hot upstairs. The shower head squeaks so we had to take quick showers. And the bathroom sink kept making a god awful sound in the middle of the night which we told management about that as well. Personally I would not stay somewhere with a management company instead of a host.

Music lover's dream house
We had a wonderful stay! It is a gorgeous spot, so peaceful. We loved that the dinning/living area is separated from the bedrooms. Loved all the music memorabilia, some impressive signatures. We plan to be back.
Nice house but woken up 3/6 nights with random burping coming from the sink and also house security alarm @430 am.

It was an okay stay
Tv only worked one night. No help from people I contacted to come fix as they never showed. The AC units were not turned on to cool the house before we got there and it was 100 degrees outside that week! The outside of the property was no up kept properly with no sock to get in and out for swimming or kayaking them at we had to use neighbors dock. Everything was grown up and could’ve been a lot better. Dirty dishes put away in the house that we had to wash to use. Had a beautiful view and would definitely stay in the area again just not with this cabin location.

It was not awful. It is advertised as no central air but it sais they have window units. The window units were off when we arrived so it was very uncomfortable the first night. Also, the yard was not cut and the rubber on the steps were not glued down so my brother tripped and busted his elbow while we were bringing our kayaks to the back yard with no dock. The cabin was also not clean. Dishes were put away dirty, a pair of old shoes were left in the living room, and multiple spiders had made homes in the downstairs bathroom. Finally, the only TV in the house had an issue maintaining connection with anything (wifi and phones). It would connect and then immediately kick it off. We contacted the number provided for assistance and were told someone would come out the first day and we would be kept in the loop. Nobody came out and nobody responded until we asked for a partial refund. They finally responded by telling us that this is a common issue and to try connecting another way which also did not work. I wont say we had a miserable experience because that would be dramatic and a lie. I will say though that a reasonable amount of effort to accommodate guests was not provided and would have made our vacation much more enjoyable. I would highly recommend the area but not this cabin.
