Unfortunately the senior front of house staff were not suited to hospitality. The cleaning and serving staff were excellent - helpful/friendly. Breakfast was very good with a wide selection of different items being regularly replenished. Our room was cleaned daily to a very high standard. The swimming pool was adequate although lacked regular cleaning. A very enjoyable stay.

This was our 3rd stay at The Gomerino and we wouldn't stay anywhere else in Malta. We were given a warm welcome back from staff especially Madeleine, the Restaurant Manager and Raisa the receptionist. Mercyline on reception was always very helpful and Bhim looked after us well on the rooftop area and was lovely to chat to. Breakfast is plentiful and delicious and our room and the whole hotel is very clean. The only negative this year was the inside pool where for 4/7 days the jets didn't work at all and for 3/7 days only a few of them did.

I’ve just returned from a week-long stay and, overall, we had a lovely time. The hotel is very modern, and the rooftop pool was a highlight. We spent many days up there and really enjoyed it. Breakfast was good; there wasn’t a huge amount of choice, but we always found something we liked. There were, however, a few things that could have been better. The plugs either side of the bed didn’t really work, and our air-conditioning unit was leaking water. We were also given an accessible room, but unfortunately the shower head wouldn’t stay up, so it wasn’t the most relaxing shower. We had to ask for the shower gel and soap to be refilled, and even when we returned around 3–4pm, our room still hadn’t been cleaned. On our final day, we experienced numerous power cuts and weren’t given much information, only finding out what was happening after going to reception to ask. The rooftop pool was lovely, although the bar doesn’t open until around 1–2pm. Naturally, we bought water and snacks to take up before it opened. Once it did open, the staff were a little abrupt when we touched a bottle of water, telling us we couldn’t drink it. I found this slightly rude, as I would have ordered drinks from the bar if it had opened earlier. The location is perfect, around a 10-minute walk to the waterfront, restaurants and ferry port, with a bus stop very close by. Overall, we had a lovely stay and the hotel has a lot going for it.

Fantastic new hotel, literally only just opened in the St Julian's area. Fantastic welcoming staff and super clean massive room. Breakfast was second to none. The areas which were open were beyond superb. A few teething problems which must be expected with a brand new hotel as new staff are being trained and everything is bedding in. Minor gripes are: - The feature point of this hotel must be the roof pool and rooftop bar but unfortunately this hasn't been completed yet and I would suggest it will be a few months yet before it is.(Disappointingly this ISN'T stated on the holiday booking websites). - There is a Hard Rock Cafe at the front of the hotel and the hotel is (sort of) built into the side of a hill. Strangely there is no way to go from the Cafe to the hotel for hotel guests other than by climbing a pretty steep (slightly slippery underfoot) hill which runs beside the hotel so I would have a rethink about staying here if you have mobility issues. St Julians is a pretty lively area and great for the young at heart who like a late night. We loved our short stay here and will definitely return but will definitely wait a few months until everything is up and running smoothly.
