Bed and Breakfast in San Marcos

"Waited 45 minutes in line to check in. Got to our room and it wasn’t cleaned, looked like someone had just left. We got downgraded because nothing else was available. The new room was horrible! Stains on bedding including a blood stain. Bathroom light made a loud noise while turned on. Rips in shower curtain. Water barely went down the sink. No extra towels or pillows available. Next day I was told that we could have our original room back because it was still checked out to us. We got to that room and it still wasn’t clean! The room also smelled like pee. Went to the bathroom and there was pee all over the floor, the towels and toilet. They told us they were completely sold out even though we had prepaid for two nights we had nowhere to stay the second night. The manager Chris is a complete A hole. Says the best he could do is offer me 50% off of a future stay. You couldn’t pay me to stay there again!"

"The rooms were clean and the staff was 10/10. The cleaning staff, security, the front desk, the restaurant staff, all of them were extremely nice and professional. "

"We have stayed here a few times. Since covid the free breakfast items are lacking. I like the location and its very reasonable price, but not having real half and half for coffee or any decent breakfast is not worth it. "

"Really close to the cove edge but the smell of the seals were a bit much. So there is no leaving your patio door open to get a breeze. The room walls were very thin so you can hear the conversations of the next room. Look nice though "

"The staff was so friendly, the location was walkable to food and the beach. Our room was ok - we were near the expressway so very noisy but you get use to it! Smoke free property but the AC unit had an odor. Free breakfast was nice , but the same items all 5 days! For the price we paid I would recommend and probably stay again if jn the area. "

"The staff are very helpful and nice! It is a wonderful location right on the beach! And you can walk to several places to eat if you don’t want to drive. Free shuttle is also helpful if you want to go further. It’s under renovation so can’t comment on the pool since it was closed during our stay but they did arrange for us to use a pool at a nearby hotel if we wanted to. "
